Building a Multi-Million Dollar Company in China
We met Yoad Makov for the first time in Beijing in 2016, when Fyber made its first steps in the Chinese market. With motivation for action and a calculated and well-managed approach, we’ve witnessed Fyber growing ever since.
Like other startups coming to the region, Fyber needed a trusted umbrella of services. In order to enable the company’s operation in China, PTL Group was in charge of recruiting local professionals: developers, a sales team and account managers; we also provided the staff with a shared office space and with marketing support.
Fyber’s story in China is impressive and Yoad, Fyber’s Managing Director for APAC, has a great story to share about it.
To do just that, we introduced Yoad to our friends from Daxue Consulting, for a personal podcast interview about mobile advertising, gaming and winning in China!
The podcast series, Insider Talks, is a joint effort by Daxue Consulting and PTL Group, where we try to bring you some of the insights and stories of those who are ‘making it in China’. Yoad’s episode is the second one in our collaboration and we are happy to share it here as well.
In the podcast, Yoad and Daxue’s CEO Matthieu David discuss:
A business model of a digital advertising company
Interaction with app developers and other industry players
Reasons why app publishers choose to work with multiple players
China out model
Localization in China and business model adaptation
Adapting your business model to China
How did the pandemic affect Fyber’s business and the gaming industry?
Listen to the episode and hear all about it yourself!

We’d like to take the opportunity and thank some important people for making this interview possible: Matthieu and Sofia from Daxue Consulting, Yoad, and our charming Yael Farjun.
