----- About the Talk -----

China’s ratification of Paris Agreement ahead of the opening of G20 has added more confidence to the world in its determination to tackle climate change. In the coming COP22 in Morocco, what China can present to the rest of the world? Where to see the real changes that are happening?

Low-Carbon Development in China has been carried out for six years since the low-carbon pilots were announced in 2010.So far a total number of 36 cities are on the list and the amount is going to expand according to NDRC. What have these cities achieved in the past few years? Have the low-carbon development goals been met in these cities? What kind of research is available to track the progress?

In order to map out the various stages of low-carbon development in Chinese cities, iGDP has been working on building up an infographic tool for both domestic and international practitioners to track and be informed about the progress. iGDP Policy Mapping (Beta Version) has been recently launched, and it serves as an interactive platform that provides evidence-based research and analysis, as well as new perspectives on the role that Chinese cities can play in COP22.

Sun Miao from iGDP will share her understandings of those questions and introduce the iGDP Policy Mapping during the event.
