加拿大，一个北美最北的国家，国土面积世界第二，地理位置得天独厚。移民国家的特性也奠定了其文化的多元性。它是原始淳朴的自然风貌与流光溢彩的国际都市的完美结合，也造就了其丰富多元的音乐风格。加拿大也对众多艺术家的艺术风格具有深厚的影响，那到底加拿大对他们意味着什么？我们就此采访了许多来自加拿大的艺术家。让我们从他们的声音和演出中感受加拿大精神吧！

我认为做一名加拿大人意味着对所有的文化怀有一颗包容之心、珍惜这种包容并且以身作则地去实践这种包容。因为包容就意味着自由和平等。当然它也意味着更猛的啤酒和更棒的威士忌……Shout out to Crown Royal 皇冠威士忌！

I think being Canadian means being tolerant of all cultures, to value inclusion and lead by example. It means freedom and equality. Lastly it means stronger beer and better whisky... shout out to Crown Royal!

For me, being Canadian is to be myself. It is being open, understanding and welcoming to all the different people that live on our vast land. There should be no judgements on individuals but only a sense of unity in living together with our differences and similarities. It means to appreciate the beautiful nature that surrounds us everyday and to care for the our land the way we would care for each other. I am proud of Canada for letting me be my own person which makes me proud to be a Canadian.

We believe that being a Canadian is to be unique, to be different. It’s being given the opportunity to live freely and express yourself, achieving your dreams when you have the will. We embrace and frankly have been influenced by cultural diversity in our everyday lives and more importantly, our music productions. As proud Canadians, we love to share our stories, our passion. When we travel, our openness to learn allows us to discover the beauty in all people. That is what being Canadian is all about.

I think if you asked ten different Canadians this question, you could get ten different answers. So, I’ll talk about what it means to me. Similar to most settlers to Canada, my family came around 100 years ago from the Ukraine, Poland and Wales in search of new opportunities. Canadians embrace multi-culturalism, and we help each other reach their potential. We don’t care what language you speak, or the colour of your skin. We believe diversity is our strength, and we love to learn from each other. Canadians are also deeply connected to our rivers, mountains, landscapes, and our rich aboriginal heritage. Being a Canadian means you love and respect people, regardless of who they are or where they come from. Being Canadian also means you love and want to take care of our planet. If you read this and agree, then you are also Canadian in your heart, even if it doesn’t say so on your passport. Are you Canadian too?

对我来说，加拿大就是多文化主义。除了第一民族（印第安人原住民），我们所有加拿大人都是移民。在多伦多，我能看到所有的肤色，所有的发色和眼睛颜色；我能看到每个大洲带来的影响。我去过世界各地，但却从没有在别处见到一个如此多样化的城市；这使我感到自豪。在加拿大，我认识的团体和人们所创造的音乐和艺术总是对世界怀有一种兼容并蓄的态度；与此同时，我们又从不包容种族主义、性别歧视、同性恋恐慌、宗教歧视以及所有的偏见。这对我来说，就是身为加拿大人的意义。

For me, Canada is about multiculturalism. Aside from the First Nations population, every single one of us in Canada is an immigrant. In Toronto, when I look around, I see people of every skin, hair and eye colour, and influences from every continent represented. I've travelled around the world, and I've never been to a more diverse city, and it makes me proud. The music and arts community and the people I associate myself with in Canada have broad and open-minded views of the world, and don't tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, religious discrimination or any prejudice whatsoever. This to me is what it means to be Canadian.

七月一日是加拿大150年的国庆日，趁此良机我们将会推出我们的新项目Canadian Sounds in China (CSC)。我们想要寻求一种全新的方式来将加拿大的好音乐推广出去。CSC就是这样一个平台。

我们在QQ音乐和网易音乐里精心创建了歌单来呈现多元化、杰出的加拿大的音乐。这一切只是开始，只是一个引子，随后我们会不断改进完善，在QQ视频和优酷上推出视频。我们会对超过二十名加拿大人问一个最简单的问题“身为加拿大人，这对我意味着什么？”

随着项目的不断完善，我们将关注最新最好的加拿大音乐信息，包括独家音、视频的发布（MTV和现场），同时也有对加拿大音乐具有重要影响的艺术家的采访。

July 1 is Canada's 150th anniversary and we're using this opportunity to a soft launch a new project called Canadian Sounds in China (CSC). We've wanted to find a means to promote the great music produced in Canada. CSC will be the vehicle to accomplish that goal.

For this soft-launch, we've curated playlists on QQMusic and Netease that we feel represents the diverse excellence that is Canadian music. It is by no means complete - just an introduction that will be expanding and evolving over time and complemented by an MV channel on video platforms QQVideo and Youku. Finally, we're kicking off with a feature asking over 20 creative Canadians a simple question: "What does it mean to be Canadian?"

As the project evolves, we will be featuring the latest and best from Canada, including exclusive music and video releases (both MTV-style and live) as well as interviews with movers-&-shakers that make Canada the superpower of the global music village.
