The end of a school year marks a significant event for all our students. They have completed another year of studies and achievements, ready to embark on a new learning journey. Our K4 students are looking forward to entering Primary school while our Year 6 cohort are excited to become Secondary students. They have celebrated their milestone events in virtual ceremonies with our co-principals, department heads, teachers, as well as their families and friends both here and around the world.

每一学年末对所有学生来说都是一个重要的节点。我们的学生完成了一年的学习，也有所成就，并且准备好开启下一阶段的学习。我们四岁班的小朋友们即将升入小学，六年级的同学期待成为初中生。上周，他们和我们的双校长、部门主管、老师、家长和朋友们一起线上庆祝毕业。

Our virtual K4 graduation ceremony was filled with songs, dances and well wishes to celebrate our youngest graduates. The warmth and enthusiasm from our ECE department head Ms Margaret Zhang and all the K4 teachers radiated through the screen as they saw their senior kindergarteners off. A definite highlight of the ceremony was the two graduation songs, ‘Graduation Day’ and ‘Thank You’, performed in English and in Chinese with joy and movements by our K4 ‘monkeys, toucans and koalas’ and their teachers. The screens were also buzzing with life and cuteness when the children shared one by one their future career aspirations. Did you know that YCIS Beijing is raising doctors, astronauts, veterinarians, professors, famous footballers, archeologists, policemen, firemen, singers, dancers, and even future fairies? A photo montage took everyone on a learning journey of what the children have shared and accomplished together during the past school year. While eyes filled with happy tears, it was an amazing moment to witness what our students are capable of. They are mathematicians, they are readers, they are writers, they are storytellers, they are builders, they are caretakers, they are problem solvers, they are responsible and so much more – in one sentence: They are well prepared to make a stellar entrance into Year 1! Welcome to Primary!

四岁班的毕业典礼充满了欢歌、舞蹈和美好的祝福，庆祝我们最小的毕业生毕业。幼教部主管张蕾和所有四岁班老师们十分高兴看到幼教部最大的孩子们毕业，他们的温暖和热情洋溢于屏幕内外。典礼的亮点是猴子班、巨嘴鸟班和考拉班的老师们和同学们用中英文演唱的两首毕业歌曲：“毕业日”和“感谢”。当孩子们分享他们未来的职业畅想时，从屏幕中你可以感受到他们的可爱。从他们的职业畅想中，我们可以了解到，北京耀中正在培养未来的医生、航天员、兽医、教授、著名的足球运动员、考古学家、警察、消防员、歌手、舞蹈家，甚至是未来的仙女。毕业典礼还有照片剪影放映，回顾孩子们过去一年一起学习的时光和所取得的成就。经过学习他们成为了小数学家、阅读者、小作家、讲故事的人、小建筑家、小看护人、问题解决者，他们富有责任心，简而言之：他们已经准备好升入一年级了！欢迎我们未来的小学生们！

Enriched by inspirational speeches from our co-principals, Primary leaders and teachers, our Year 6s were the true stars of their Primary graduation ceremony as they beamed proudly from their screens to celebrate the end of Primary school. Five of our students, Jessie Li, Charles Lin, Whitney Sui, Amber Li and Justin Chu, spoke on behalf of their learning communities reflecting on their time at YCIS Beijing. While all the speeches were very personal, they all had an expression of gratitude in common: gratitude for their teachers, their friendships, and the abundant learning opportunities to progress and thrive. With a growth mindset, the students even addressed the pandemic times with positivity and conveyed an awareness of the fact that life is never stagnant but transformative. Throughout the graduation ceremony, festive instrumental renditions were given by our musical talents Claire Su, Sophia Li, and Joshua Li while Amber Li ended our graduation with an amazing Beijing Opera performance.

六年级的学生是小学毕业典礼上的主角，双校长、小学部的领导和老师们发表了寓意深远的毕业演讲，祝福他们毕业。六年级的五位学生李映凡、林恆毅、隋雯德、李详音和朱育作为学生代表发表讲话，回顾他们在北京耀中的学习历程。虽然所有的演讲都是个人演说，但是所有演讲都有共同点：感谢他们的老师、他们的朋友、丰富的学习机会帮助他们取得进步和成长。带着成长型思维，同学们甚至积极面对疫情时期、告诉我们生活不是停滞不前而是发生了转变。毕业典礼上还有非常喜庆的乐器弹奏演出，分别由苏天南、李欣雨、Joshua Li带来，李详音同学以绝妙的京剧唱腔为毕业典礼收尾。

During the ceremony, the students received their graduation certificates, while special awards in the categories of ‘Citizenship’, ‘Most Improved’, ‘Sportsmanship’ and ‘Excellence’ were given out to student role models, recognising character qualities that span beyond the classroom. The following photo montage brought back all their shared memories of the past school year, reflecting on everyone’s effort, gains and growth. Graduation is that final step out of Primary before opening a new door into Secondary. We wish all the students of the graduating class the very best as they move to Secondary.

毕业典礼上，学生们收到了毕业证书、特殊的奖项如“最佳小公民奖”、“最具进步奖”、“小运动家精神奖”和“最优异奖”都授予了相应的模范生，认可他们超越学习以外的优秀品质。最后的图片剪影带大家回忆过去一年他们的成长历程，从视频中可以看到每一个人的努力、收获和成长。毕业是从小学到中学的最后一步。希望所有的毕业生顺利过渡到中学。
