YCIS Beijing Competes in Swim Meet
In early December, swimmers from YCIS Beijing travelled to the International School of Beijing to compete in the last major swim meet of the calendar year. With over 400 swimmers in attendance at the event, competition was fierce, but our school’s athletes posted some impressive results!
In addition to a number of students posting first swims and personal bests, half of the students made it to the finals in at least one of their events. Owen Yeow in Year 3 placed 2nd in the 50 metre freestyle with a time of 38.59. Alfie Yeow shocked the stands during the 100 metre freestyle race when he finished 3rd with a time of 1:15.78 despite barely qualifying. Cheryl did a wonderful job representing YCIS Beijing in the finals, qualifying for two finals events.
We congratulate the swimmers on their results this meet and look forward to cheering them on in future events in 2016!
