我初次接触自赏音乐是在中国，这里也是让我深深爱上这种音墙与轰鸣混响的起点。上周末在育音堂公园我能亲自主办一些我最喜欢的自赏和梦幻流行乐队的演出，真是格外激动幸福。这些乐队包括：我最早接触的Forsaken Autumn、我眼中越来越自信和雄心勃勃的RUBUR，以及正在大放异彩的Pale Air。不同的风格、特色与元素交织在一起——仅仅用广义上的盯鞋音乐来定义这些乐队其实并不准确，因为他们的创作核心皆是对探索的无尽追求；不论是RUBUR的迷幻风味、Pale Air的情感风暴，还是Forsaken Autumn的迷离合成器，都呈现着柔和但又强劲、同时如此引人共鸣的质地。感谢这些乐队，感谢育音堂公园，感谢所有前来支持的朋友们。

China was my gateway drug for shoegaze - the place where I first fell head over heels in love with the walls of sound and deafening reverb. So one can imagine how ecstatic I was to host some of my favorite bands in the world of shoegeaze and dream pop at Yuyintang Park last weekend.

These were bands that were my first entry into the world (Forsaken Autumn), bands I’ve seen only grow more assured and ambitious (RUBUR), and bands on the cusp of breaking through in a big way (Pale Air). 

Different flavors, different styles, and a slew of different ingredients - it’s almost disingenuous to pigeonhole these acts as shoegaze cause at the core of their sound is a desire to explore - whether it's the psychedelic drive of RUBUR, the swelling emotional catharsis of Pale Air or the simmering ethereal synth-pop haze of Forsaken Autumn. Supple. Potent. Evocative.
