FAR APART & CLOSE TOGETHER

Come Together

Lara,

Nicola,

。。。。。。

And here comes mine:

详细内容:“We live in Axxxx, a town twenty-one miles northwest of Boston along Route 2 and west of Concord, where the first shots were fired in kicking off the American Revolutionary War, resulting in the overthrow of British rule  (注:英国公司), and where Little Women was filmed.

Comparing with folks living in the city, enjoying a walking distance to the office, I have to, in a normal day, take a two-hour commuter-rail ride back and forth in exchange for a larger living space in the suburb. I could finally benefit from it under the stay-at-home mandate with this Covid-19 crisis – I have the whole basement to myself, most of the time feeling cold because of its spaciousness and have to turn on the heater.  It is actually a half basement with a large window and a patio door that allows me to walk outside in a sunny day and leads, through the backyard, to a biking trail on which people could walk or jog as far as they like (see the attached picture of the trail).
I moved to the basement to work gradually - my initial work space was the bedroom as I enjoyed the sudden freedom of getting up or sleeping of my own will. Like one would be soon sick of eating too much candy and get back to healthy living, I eventually figured it would be good to everyone in the house that I behave normal as a normal person should do.
My daughter obtained her driving permit right before the statewide stay-at-home order. My husband was patient enough to take her out for an one-hour driving lesson each day. Six or seven weeks later, she’s become the designated driver if we do go out at all. It’s her last year in high school. She’s going to miss the graduation ceremony and the prom. I asked her to keep the dress she’s chosen long ago, as a memorabilia to remember how special the kids from year 2020 are.

I feel lucky that I could work from home and still have a job when so many people don’t. While hoping this crisis will pass soon and life be normal again, I know I’ll for sure miss the time when this small family stick through it together, when I could spend as much time as possible with my daughter who’d leave home soon for college, starting her own life.”
