China Issue New Policy for Foreigner as English Teacher

As the economy development of China, globalization is more and more important. However, English is not the official language which has been affecting the process. China paid more and more attention on the English education, but the good quality foreign English teacher is always a big shortage. Many different country people in China taughtEnglish during the past decades. The people who have an English language related major or from English speak country would easily obtain the English Teaching work permit in China before 2017.

As the revolution of China work permit since 2017, China made new policies and rules for the English Teaching work permit, it is much stricter and more requirements, here’s the qualification:

1. Must from English as native / first language country*

2. More than 2 years English teaching experience.

(Applicant who have TESOL / TEFL certificate can be exempted of this)

3. Have a bachelor or above degree.

(If no degree, then need to go via the points system)

4. No criminal record.

5. Must hired by school or company who have Education Permit.

*The English as native / first language country list accept by China work permit bureau:

Australia	UK	US
New Zealand	Singapore	Canada
South Africa	Dominica	Jamaica
Gibraltar	Bahamas	Bermuda
Guyana	Trinidad  and Tobago, Grenada

This means, the people from other countries who’s doing English teaching job here are all illegal ! Working for training center or company without Education Permit are also illegal !
