理查德.斯万(Richard A. Swann)博士拥有教育和音乐学士学位、西澳大学硕士学位、美国佛罗里达州立大学教育学博士学位。他还获得了国际学校领导力高级证书以及针对法务、金融、市场和招生几个方面的国际学校管理证书。
斯万博士在国际学校担任领导岗位超过30年,拥有丰富的国际学校管理经验;曾担任过学校课程主管、学校提升协调员、主任、校长。他曾在澳大利亚、美国、欧洲、中东、亚洲的学校任职。此外,他还拥有多个国际学习项目的管理和运营经验,包括IGCSE、DP、MYP、PYP、IMYC、IPC、AP。
他曾在上海顶尖国际学校担任校长5年,拥有丰富的管理经验并理解中国文化,尤其在为中国学生提供具有挑战性、创新和激发性学习机会和学习体验方面有独到见解。
作为一名提倡全人教育和以儿童为中心的教学倡导者,他认为培养学生奉献精神和领导力是至关重要的。他致力于开发和指导与国际标准接轨的教与学、认证领导力与指导、课程研发、学习社区成长与链接。
斯万博士领导和协调多个国际学校认证项目,包括美国西部院校联盟(WASC)、新英格兰学校和大学协会(NEASC)、国际学校(CIS)委员会、国家课程和教材发展中心(NCCT -中国)以及多个国际学校课程项目授权。
斯万博士还是一位颇有成就的音乐家,曾担任国际管弦乐和合唱指挥。他是一名歌手,同时演奏低音提琴和单簧管,并与世界各地的管弦乐队和唱诗班合作。他亦曾在澳洲、东南亚、欧洲及美国等国家及地区的合唱团、艺术节及音乐节担任指挥及评委。
斯万博士将与中方校长合作,为广州市番禺区诺德安达学校建立坚实的基础,并协同负责学校的领导、组织和管理,为师生的教与学提供鼓舞人心的办学愿景与领导力。

Dr. Richard A. Swann
International Principal of NAS Guangzhou
Dr. Swann holds two baccalaureate degrees in education and music, a Master’s degree from the University of Western Australia, and earned his PhD in education from Florida State University (USA). He has been awarded a Certificate, and Advanced Certificate of International School Leadership, and a Certificate of International School Business with a focus on law, finance, marketing, and admissions.
Dr. Swann has served in leadership positions for over 30 years with significant international school leadership experience as a director, head of school, principal, whole school curriculum administrator and school improvement coordinator including performing arts specialist teaching and other education certifications. His commitments have included learning communities at schools, colleges and universities in Australia, the USA, Europe, Eastern and South Eastern Asia, and the Middle East. In addition, he has experience in multiple international learning programs including International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), International Baccalaureate (DP, MYP, PYP), International Middle and Primary Years Curriculum (IMYC, IPC), USA Curriculum and Advanced Placement (AP).
As an advocate for holistic and child centered learning experiences, he believes it is essential for students to also develop skills and attributes for service and leadership. He is focused on developing and guiding the alignment of student teaching and learning with international standards, accreditation leadership and guidance, curriculum development, and school community growth and connectivity.
Dr. Swann has led and coordinated multiple international school improvement projects, international school accreditation including the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), Council of International Schools (CIS), National Centre for Curriculum and Textbook development (NCCT- China) and multiple international school curriculum program authorizations.
As the Head of School/Co-Principal for 5 years at a major international school in Shanghai, he gained considerable experience and understanding for the China context and especially for the importance of providing challenging, innovative and motivational learning opportunities and experiences for Chinese students not typically able to access international education programs and schools.
Dr. Swann is also an accomplished musician as an international orchestral and choral conductor. He is a singer, plays the double bass and clarinet, and has worked with orchestras and choirs across the world. He has also been regularly engaged as a conductor, clinician and adjudicator for choral ensembles, festivals and eisteddfods at state, national and international level, including Australasia, South-East Asia, Europe and the USA.
Dr. Swann will work collaboratively with national Co-Principal in establishing the strong foundations for NAS Guangzhou and taking overall responsibility for the leadership, organization and management of the school, providing inspirational vision and leadership for teaching and learning.
