教学主任兼STEAM协调员

 Wendy Anne Crichton   

Wendy老师在英国获得海洋学硕士，并获得了教育硕士学位。在过去的13年里，她在英国本土和其他国家都有教学经历。她在英国担任中学科学主任和综合理科教师，她曾担任科学老师，协调员，学校评估协调员和学术副校长。

在她13年的教学生涯中，她主持过课程研发，领导学校教学，提升中小学教学标准，落实学生评估与成长追踪，制定了学习过渡策略，撰写并推动实施学术关怀方案，并领导学校通过了COBIS（英国国际学校委员会）的全面认证。她热衷于不断发展自己，更新自己的理论和想法，以便给学生提供最好的机会。

 Wendy completed her Masters of Oceanography and PGCE in the UK and has taught in both the UK and Internationally over the last 13 years.  She worked in the UK as a Secondary Lead Science and STEAM teacher and internationally as a Science teacher and coordinator, whole school assessment coordinator and Deputy Head (Academic).

During her 13 years teaching, she has developed curriculums, led teaching and learning, worked to raise standards across primary and secondary schools, implemented assessment and pupil tracking, developed transition strategies, written and implemented academic and pastoral policies and led her school through a full COBIS accreditation.  She is always keen to keep developing herself to stay up to date with new theories and ideas so as to provide the best possible opportunities for students.

What is your understanding of bilingual education?

双语教育在全球范围内的发展趋势并不令人意外，因为我们正在努力培养真正的全球公民，并使他们准备好迎接我们飞速变化的世界。学生不仅有机会学习两种语言，还可以拥抱和探索一种新的文化，为学生深造和未来的职业生涯做好准备。中国国家课程体系和国际化教学的结合，为学生提供了一个的极佳的学习体验，奠定未来成功的基石。

The growing trend of bilingual education around the world is no surprise as we strive to develop truly global citizens who are prepared for an ever-changing world.  The opportunity for students to not just learn two languages but to also embrace and explore a new culture provides students with the best preparation for further study and future careers.

Combining the knowledge, skills and understanding from the IPC and the Chinese National curriculum provides students an exciting and engaging learning experience and is a great foundation for future success.

Ambitious:  I am hard working and focused on trying the best I can in everything I do, and keep going however big the challenges are that I face.

Caring: People matter to me.  I have high expectations but will do everything I can  to support the people around me and like to see people achieve the best they can.

Adventurous: I like to experience new things as well as places and push myself further than I think possible.

How would you make the most of the difference in culture?

为学生、家长和职员提供分享他们的语言、传统和文化习俗的机会是非常重要的。我们是终身学习者，每天在学校以及在特殊的活动和庆典中不断学习和体验新事物是十分重要的。

Providing opportunities for students, parents and staffs to share their languages, traditions and customs from their cultures is so important.  We are lifelong learners and it is great to continually learn and experience new things from each other every day in school as well at special events and celebrations.

您打算为广州市番禺区诺德安达学校带来什么？您对新学年的教学有什么计划？

What do you plan to bring to NAS Guangzhou? What is your goal for your students in the coming year?

我希望传播并发展一种文化，让学生们在尝试新鲜事物的时候能感受到安全和支持，并在这样的文化中，学生能从他们的错误中吸取教训，在成功的基础上再接再厉。

我希望每个人在学术和课外活动上都努力做到最好，并在他们的日常生活中增强目标感。我坚信每个学生的成就有无限可能，通过共同努力我们可以为每个学生设定更高的目标，让他们成为最好的自己。

I hope to bring and develop a culture where students feel safe and supported to try something new, learn from their mistakes and build on their successes.  I want everyone to strive to achieve the best they can in academics, extracurricular activities and develop their use of the personal goals in their daily life.  

I strongly believe there is no limit to what every student can achieve and by working together, we can aim high and achieve the best for every student.
