英语老师兼班主任
Jack
Jack拥有香港大学英语研究的文学硕士学位,并持有美国颁发的6-12年级的英语教师资格证。此外,他曾在泰国、新加坡和香港等亚洲地区有8年的教学经验。他认为一名教育工作者的工作不是教孩子们思考什么,而是如何思考。Jack 十分期待将自己对英语的热情和专业知识带给广州市番禺区诺德安达学校的学生。

Jack has a Master of Arts in English Studies from the University of Hong Kong and holds a US-state issued teaching certification in the area of English Grade 6-12. Also, he has 8 years’ teaching experience in Asia, including Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong and believes his job as an educator is not to teach children what to think, but how to think. He is looking forward to the opportunity to bring his passion and expertise in the English language to students at Nord Anglia School Guangzhou, Panyu.

What do you plan to bring to NAS Guangzhou? What is your goal for your students in the coming year?
我会把我的专业知识和热情带到课堂上,以此激发学生对语言和文学的热情。我的目标是让每一位学生在课程结束的时候,都能感受到语言在知识建构中的重要性。语言无处不在,它帮助我们形成对现实的概念。我会给我的学生一些挑战,让他们更批判性地看待他们所看到的一切,塑造他们自己对世界的看法并乐于与人交流。

I plan to bring my professionalism and enthusiasm to the classroom as a tool to inspire a passion in my students for language and literature. My goal is for each student to leave with their own sense of the importance that language plays in the construction of knowledge. We are everywhere surrounded by language, which helps to shape our conceptions of reality. I plan to challenge my students to read everything they see more critically and to then be able to shape and communicate their own ideas about the world.

Cultural differences provide an interesting springboard from which to explore many different issues and topics that we encounter in our daily lives. Acknowledging and investigating these different perspectives in the classroom is a great way to engage students and stimulate their curiosity. Through deeper inquiry, cultural differences can further be used to help students develop a better understanding of their own cultural identities, while also allowing them to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of people who are different.

I am very passionate about languages and literature. I enjoy the lifelong pursuit of knowledge and insight and revel in the joy that this process brings.
I care about the well-being of each of my students. While academic success is important, I also care about the whole student and seek to cultivate an atmosphere of support and encouragement for everyone.
I am an enthusiastic an energetic person. I enjoy engaging with students and colleagues, and I enjoy fun activities both inside and outside of the classroom.
