Q:在我们学校,语文课是怎么呈现的?我们四年级的语文教学目标是什么?
Ms. Chen: 我们学校通过了广州市义务教育标准化学校评估,是一所义务教育标准化学校。因此我们的语文课程采用的是部编版教材。我们在部编版教材的教学目标的基础上有自己的改进。我们浅层次的教学目标是让孩子们掌握的基础的语文知识,更长远的目标是希望孩子们通过学习,在未来提高对阅读、写作的兴趣和培养成阅读、写作的习惯。在原有的基础上提升他们在阅读、写作方面的技巧。

Q:In our school, how is the Chinese class presented? What is our Chinese teaching goal for Grade 4 students?
Miss Chen: Our school has passed the Guangzhou Compulsory Education Standardization School Assessment and is a compulsory education standardization school. Therefore, our Chinese courses use the textbooks compiled by Ministry. We have made improvements based on the textbooks compiled by the Ministry. Our basic teaching goal is to make the students master the basic Chinese knowledge, and the longer-term goal is to hope that through teaching, children will increase their interest in reading and writing and cultivate their reading and writing habits in the future. Improve their reading and writing skills on the original basis.
Q: 如何帮助孩子们养成良好的阅读习惯?
Ms. Chen: 我们的语文课堂是开放式的,课堂的互动性很强,氛围活跃。课堂上不会限制孩子们的思维,会提问更多的开放式问题,没有标准答案来判别孩子们的答案的正确性。我们为了鼓励孩子们积极阅读,在班级设置了阅读天梯。
在学期开始之前列了七本共读书目,老师和孩子一起阅读,建立起师生之间共同的情感。在学期开始,每个孩子都有一个起点,天梯的每一级代表着一本书,他们需要在本学期结束之前要努力不断攀升到天梯的最高峰。我们考虑到不同孩子阅读的速度存在着不同,因此取平均值,要求他们在两到三个星期内阅读完一本书,同时每个周末需要去完成一份阅读记录单,写下对这本书的思考、对书中人物的思考,对情节的思考。阅读过的书籍和对书本的理解都会被放进他们专门的阅读集内,这份阅读集就是他们爬升阅读天梯的条件。

Q: How to help children develop good reading habits?
Miss Chen: Our Chinese classroom is open,interactive and active. In the classroom, children’s thinking will not be restricted, more open questions will be asked, and there is no standard answer to judge the correctness of children’s answers.
In order to encourage children to read actively, we set up a “reading ladder” in the class. Before the beginning of the semester, seven books were listed for reading. The teacher and the child read together to establish a common emotion. At the beginning of the semester, every child has a starting point, and each “step” represents a book level. They need to work hard to climb to the peak of the ladder before the end of the semester. We consider that different children have different reading speeds and based on average ,we ask them to read a book within two to three weeks. At the same time, they need to complete a reading record sheet every weekend and write down the understanding of this book. The thinking about the characters, the plot in the book. The books they have read and the understanding of the books will be put into their special reading collection, which is the condition for them to climb the “reading ladder”.
Q:如何培养学生的写作能力?
Ms. Chen: 在写作上面,我们在原有的部编版教材的基础之上有自己的思考,也有所创新。比如说四年级上册第三单元的内容是关于观察日记的撰写。
我们不希望孩子们的观察日记是流于形式,而是他们在真正在观察、体会。基于此,我们开设了《小蒜头变身记》集体写作课程。我们买了几根蒜头将它种植在教室里,让孩子们可以近距离的见证它们的成长。在还没有正式种植之前,先让孩子们进行第一次的观察,写下对蒜头的初印象。每天进行细致的观察,将不同形态下的蒜头发育拍照记录,将照片进行打印,发给孩子们做记录的素材。前期蒜头是放在水中进行培养,后期因为营养不够,需要移植到土里生长也都会被记录在他们的观察日记。直到蒜头不能在生长了,我们就会写下关于这篇变身记的大结局,也意味着这个阶段的学习结束了。

Q: How to cultivate students' writing ability?
Miss Chen: In writing, we have our own thinking and innovation on the basis of the textbooks compiled by Ministry. For example, the third unit of the fourth grade volume is about the writing of observation diaries.
We don't want the children's observation diary is only staying on the forms, but really observing and experiencing. Based on it, we set up a group writing course of "Little Garlic Transformation", bought a few garlics and planted them in the classroom so that children can witness their growth up closely. Before the formal planting, we ask the children to make the first observation and write down the first impression of the garlic. We made meticulous observations every day, take photos of the development of garlic in different forms, print the photos, and send them to the children for recording materials. In the early stage, the garlic was cultivated in water, but in the later stage, due to insufficient nutrition, it needs to be transplanted into the soil to grow and will be recorded in their observation diary. Until the garlic can no longer grow, we will write the final observation of this transformation note, which also means that this stage of learning is over.
在课堂上传阅观察的蒜,孩子们用眼睛看,可以用鼻子闻,用手摸,调动他们所有的感受亲身去体验。这样可以将日常的写作、课本内容和生活的观察和体会融合在一起,让语文课堂更加生动有趣。我们惊奇发现观察记录本也会激发孩子们的创作能力,他们会对封面进行不同的设计,创造一本属于自己的作品集。

In the classroom, the children can read and observe the garlic. The children can see with their eyes, smell with their noses, and touch them with their hands, mobilizing all their feelings to experience it for themselves. In this way, daily writing, textbook content, and life observation and experience can be integrated, making the Chinese classroom more lively and interesting. We were surprised to find that the observation notebook will also stimulate the creativity of children. They will design the cover differently to create a collection of their own.
我们最近在进行一个尝试,初衷是为了让孩子们对写作不再恐惧,设置了“每日一句”的练习。一开始会有家长质疑这么简单的操作是否真的会带来的效果,其实我们是在培养孩子们记录自己的生活,将写作融入生活。“每日一句”的唯一要求就是写自己想写的,我也会进行批改,跟孩子们交流反馈。
一开始孩子们真的只是写很简单的一句话,后面慢慢的会通过图片的形式表达自己的心情,他们的写作变得图文并茂。通过“每日一句”的培养,让他们慢慢记录生活,对发生的事情进行细节的填充。在这个记录的过程中慢慢学会表达并发现学习中的快乐,会更加积极主动学习语文。

In fact, we are training children to share their lives and integrate writing into their lives. The only requirement of "One Sentence of the Day" is to write what they want to write. I will also make corrections and exchange feedback with them.
In the beginning, the children just wrote a very simple sentence, and later they will express their feelings in the form of pictures, and their writing becomes rich in pictures and texts. Through the training of "One Sentence of the Day", which makes them slowly record their lives and fill in the details of what happened. In the process of this recording, they student will slowly learn to express and discover the joy of learning, and will be more active in learning Chinese.
Q: 语文课的教学怎么参与到跨学科的学习当中?
Ms. Chen: 我们的语文课和其他学科有一定的融合性。比如我们有关于冒险的学习内容,在英语课和科学课上他们就会学习一些冒险的故事。而在语文课上我们学习了相关的神话故事,甚至创作了自己的神话故事。我们的教学内容是相似相近的。
而学习到活跃的星球的相关知识时,在科学上孩子们会学习火山和地震等内容。我们不止地壳、地球活动是活跃的,我们的人类的活动也是活跃的。因此在我们的语文课堂上我们学习了很多古今中外名人的故事,了解他们所做的贡献,贴合我们的主题。

Q: How does the Chinese classes participate in interdisciplinary learning?
Miss Chen: Our Chinese courses also have a certain degree of integration with Interdisciplinary Theme. For example, we have learning content about adventure, and they will learn some adventure stories in English class and science class. In the Chinese class, we learned related fairy tales and even created our own fairy tales. Our teaching content is similar.
When learning about the active planet, children will learn about volcanoes and earthquakes in science. We are not only active in the crust and the earth, but also in our human activities. Therefore, in our Chinese class, we learned a lot of stories of celebrities at home and abroad, learned about their contributions, and fit our theme.
