一件没办法计划的事情、不可避免的事情、命中注定的事、哎！有些事情是这样的了 

The road was blocked, so we missed the meeting - it was just one of those things.

I feel terrible that I didn't pass the bar exam. I guess it was just one of those things.

The intro

 (Listening Comprehension)

Yo, what's up peeps ? This is Mr.Wong speaking. WOOOOOOOO ! It's been a hectic week for me, you guys wouldn't believe what happened. See the neighborhood I live in is kind of ghetto. Okay, it's super ghetto, and shit always tends to happen when you're not home. Hear me out, when I got home from work, I saw 2 minors breaking my window trying to gain access to my house. I yelled, "Hey what the F... are you doing ?", and they took off and ran as fast as they could. I tried to chase them down, but they were too fast. I was left with a broken window. I called the police but didn't think too much of it because well....it's the ghetto, what do you expect, right ? These are considered the norms for me.

The next day I received a call from a detective, stating he was an investigator for the ju venile division and that he caught 2 minors trying to break in a liquor store. Now first of all, I just wanna say, "How could someone be so dumb after breaking my window and then try to break in a liquor store the same night like nothing happened before ?" There are some things in life you just don't understand. So the detective wanted to meet me in person to discuss the situtaion. He told me he could get the minors that were in custody to reimburse the damages they caused. I was also served a subpoena to testify in court.

Hah, living in ghetto huh ? It's just one of those things. Okay, let's cut to the chase. Today's phrase of the day is "just one of those things". Check it out !
