Corruption is a serious crime that no country, region or community is immune to, and it can undermine social and economic development in all societies. 腐败是一种任何国家,地区或团体都不能完全免疫的，极为严重的犯罪行为，并且在所有社会形态中，都会对社会和经济发展造成巨大破坏。

On October 31, 2003, the 58th UN General Assembly passed the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, marking December 9 as the International Anti-corruption Day, in a bid to promote people's awareness of anti-corruption as well as the convention. 

2003年10月31日,第58届联合国大会通过了《联合国反腐败公约》,标志着12月9日成为国际反腐败日,此举也极大地促进了人民反腐意识增强和对反腐公约的理解。

China, as one of the signatory countries, has actively engaged in anti-corruption drives and scored remarkable achievements in anti-corruption. In recent years, there has been an increasing number of fugitives suspected of corruption being extradited to China from overseas. 

作为协议的签约国之一，中国正积极参与反腐运动并取得了举世瞩目的成就。近年来，已经有越来越多涉贪人员外逃人员被引渡回国。

Between January 2014 and November this year, 2,442 Chinese fugitives suspected of economic crimes, including 397 officials, were deported from more than 70 countries and regions, and 8.5 billion yuan (1.2 billion US dollars) were seized in illegal assets, according to the Communist Party of China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), the country's top anti-graft watchdog.

根据中纪委即国家最高反腐机构的数据，从2014年1月到今年11月，包括397名官员在内的2442名在逃中国经济犯罪嫌疑人，已经被来自70多个国家和地区被驱逐出境。85亿元（约合12亿美元）非法财产被没收。

This year alone, 908 fugitives, including 122 officials, were extradited from overseas and 2.3 billion yuan (300 million US dollars) recovered in illegal assets. A total of 19 people, named as China's top 100 fugitives have returned to China this year, some voluntarily, bringing the total number of returnees to 37. The names of all the 100 fugitives were also released in an Interpol "red notice." 

仅今年1年，就有908名外逃人员，其中包括122名官员从海外被遣返回国，约23亿（3亿美元）非法财产被追回。今年中国前100名逃犯中有19名被遣送回国，一些是自愿地，百名红通回国逃犯总人数达到37人。所有100名逃犯的名字在国际刑警组织“红色通缉令”中发布。

"These achievements are possible because we have successfully put fear in the fugitives' heart. They now know that wherever they go, we will get them back. They should have no illusions about escaping the law," said Liu Jianchao, director of the CCDI's International Cooperation Bureau.

China is playing a leading role in international anti-corruption cooperation. So far, it has participated in 15 global and regional anti-corruption cooperation mechanisms and acted as president of the anti-corruption working groups in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and Group of 20 countries.

中国在国际反腐合作中起着主导作用。到目前为止，中国已参加了15个全球性和区域性的反腐败合作机制，并担任亚太经合组织和G20峰会反腐败工作组的主席国。

As of November this year, China has established anti-corruption cooperative partnerships with 89 countries and regions and has signed 48 extradition treaties and 59 mutual legal assistance treaties. 

今年十一月，中国已与89个国家和地区建立了反腐倡廉的合作关系，并签署了48个引渡条约和59条法律互助条约。

China also intends to begin negotiations with more Western countries, such as the US and France, for bilateral treaties on sharing the assets that corrupt Chinese fugitives have sent overseas, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. China will not stop the steps of anti-corruption

外交部表示，中国同样希望与包括美国，法国在内的西方国家针对在逃中国贪腐人员外逃资产追讨共享开展双边，中国反腐没有休止符。
