Bios of speakers


Prof. FU Xiaolan is the Founding Director of the Technology and Management Centre for Development (TMCD), Professor of Technology and International Development and Fellow of Green Templeton College. She was appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to the Ten-Member High Level Advisory Group of the UN Technology Facilitation Mechanism and to the Governing Council of the UN's Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries. She is also a member of the UN SDSN Leadership Council led by Jeffrey Sachs. She is the Winner of 2021 Falling Walls Scientific Breakthrough Award, 2021 R&D Management annual conference Best Paper for collaboration and alliance track, 2019 winner of the CFA Asia-Pacific Research Exchange Award (CFA Institute), the 2018 winner of the Best Journal Paper of the Year Award (European Academy of International Business), and the 2017 winner of the Best Paper Award (European Association of Management (EURAM) Innovation Strategic Interest Group).


Her research interests include innovation, technology and industrialisation; trade, foreign direct investment and economic development; emerging Asian economies; innovation and productivity in the UK/US. She has published extensively in leading international journals independently or in collaboration with others. Her recent books include Innovation under the Radar, China's Path to Innovation, China’s Role in Global Economic Recovery and The Rise of Technological Power in the South. She was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies, Associate Editor of R&D Management, and serves on the editorial boards of Industrial and Corporate Change, International Journal of Technology Management, and four other international journals.



Dr. HUANG Can is Professor, Executive Deputy Director of National Institute for Innovation Management and Co-Director of Institute for Intellectual Property Management at School of Management, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He is a Youth Cheung-Kong Scholar awarded by the Ministry of Education of China. He is a member of the National Knowledge Management Standardization Technical Committee and a member of advisory board of Research Center for Technological Innovation, Tsinghua University; CIPRUN Intellectual Property Management Research Center, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China; and the Asia Pacific Innovation Conference. He is an Associate Editor of Technovation and Deputy Editor of Management and Organization Review and a member of the editorial boards of several other academic journals. Prof. Can Huang’s research interests include innovation management, intellectual property right and science and technology policy.



Hou Junli, Ph.D. in Technical Economics from Liaoning University, Postdoctoral in Business Management from Northeastern University. The main research direction is innovation ecosystem and digital innovation.



Dr. YIN Ximing is an Assistant Professor at the School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology, and a part-time Researcher at Tsinghua Research Center of Technological Innovation, China. He receives his PhD degrees from the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, and was an awarded Visiting Scholar at Johnson College of Business, Cornell University. His research focus on innovation management, digital innovation and technology transfer, his work has been presented internationally and published within the Industrial and Corporate Change, Management and Organization Review, Journal of Rural Studies, Annual Meeting of Academy of Management (AOM).


Bio of Chair


Dr. WU Dong is Associate Professor and Qiushi youth scholar on innovation management at School of Management, Zhejiang University. He is an associate director of Zhejiang University & University of Cambridge Joint Research Center for Global Manufacturing and Innovation Management. He is a Secretary General of Society of Collaborative Innovation and Management, China. He also works as a research fellow at the National Institute for Innovation Management (NIIM), Zhejiang University, China. He was a visiting scholar at University of Cambridge, UK and Aalborg University, Denmark, and a Post-doc at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA. He holds a PhD in management from Zhejiang University. His research areas are Technological Innovation Management, Global Manufacturing and Strategy.
