材质解读 | 永不褪色的设计元素，当金属材料遇上匠人工艺
Young Bird Gallery联合意大利高端品牌De Castelli发起的“bookAbook”Bookend Design书立设计创意征集已过15个工作日（点击下划线文字或最底部海报即可阅读任务书详情），我们收到众多设计师对于金属材质选择的疑问。为了能让小伙伴们在有限的时间内无限拓宽设计的想象空间，这次我们分享对De Castelli金属材质的全新解读。
It has been15 work days since our call for submissions for the “bookAbook Bookend Design”competition hosted by Young Bird Gallery in partnership with the prestigious Italian furnishing brand De Castelli. Many contestants have posed their questions on materials. To inspire their creativity as much as possible on a tight schedule, we would like to offer some new insights into metals produced by the brand.
De Castelli品牌所有的产品材质均经过专门研发的“特殊表面处理”（通过物理或化学的方法在材料表面形成一层具有某种或多种特殊性质的表层）后，使得金属材料（强化铁、黄铜、紫铜、不锈钢、铝合金、18K金箔）本身的外观、质感、功能等性能得到质的飞跃。
De Castelli’s collection of products features specially developed finishing techniques: the creation of a covering with certain attributes on the surface of materials (such as iron, brass,copper, stainless steel, aluminum alloy and 18k gold leaf) through physical or chemical treatment in a bid to optimize their appearance, texture and performance in a dramatic manner.
►特殊工艺与金属材料的融合
A Mix of Unique Workmanship & Metals
Maistral：“表面烤漆拉丝”工艺，是专为强化铁、黄铜和紫铜材料上色而开发的一种手工制作流程，可用于制作家具、装饰物及配件，但不宜用于桌面地板等易受日常磨损的表面。
“Maistral” is a handcrafted process of brushing and varnishing surfaces created and realized by De Castelli for coloring iron,brass or copper. Despite its use for furniture, coverings and accessories, it is not advisable to apply this finishing on surfaces subject to daily wear and tear (such as top tables and/or floors).
Délabré：“表面氧化拉丝”工艺，针对强化铁、铝合金、黄铜、紫铜材料的手工制作流程。按照拉丝纹理的形式不同分为“环状拉丝”和“线状拉丝”两种。
“Délabré” refers to the craftsmanship of brushing and oxidizing surfaces for coloring iron,aluminum alloy, brass or copper, divided into two types by texture - “Orbital” and “Striped”.
Satin：“表面磨砂烤漆”工艺，针对黄铜、紫铜和不锈钢材料的一种手工制作流程，利用特殊处理的烤漆将原本光滑的材料表面形成漫反射的一道工序。
“Satin” is a manual process of frosting and varnishing brass, copper and stainless steel in which a specially treated varnish leads to diffuse reflection on the otherwise smooth surfaces.
Sable’：“表面粉喷”工艺，是针对强化铁和不锈钢材料加工的手工制作流程，可选择栗色（Marron）和黑色（Noir）两种色系的制作效果。
“Sable’” refers to the workmanship of powder-coating iron and stainless steel in hues of either Marron or Noir.
►基本工艺与金属材料的搭配
Fusion of Basic Handiwork & Metals
Polished： “表面抛光”工艺，一种使用物理机械或化学药品降低物体表面粗糙度的制作流程。
“Polished” is a burnishing process in which machinery or chemicals are applied to make surfaces less coarse.
Coating：“表面电镀”工艺，利用电解原理使材料经过180度高温的熔炉，粉末融化聚合后覆盖材料本身以一层同种材质坚固轻质的薄膜。
“Coating”is a process in which different materials are processed at 180 degrees Celsius based on the principle of electrolysis, leading to the particles fusing and forming a thin yet solid layer wrapping the materials.
Mottled：“表面淬火氧化”工艺，采用乙炔火焰在材料上制造纹理的形式，根据摩擦时间的长短，呈现的斑驳程度不尽相同。
“Mottled” refers to the manual treatment in which acetylene is lit to create oxidizing, textured finishings, which vary by duration.
Hammered：“锤铸造型”工艺，利用各类锤等锻造工具对材料表面进行处理，力度不同产生深浅各异的凹凸效果，增强材料本身的设计感。
“Hammered” involves the employment of a whole variety of hammers to forge materials, which produces varied effects based on different pressures to highlight the design scheme itself.
►独树一帜的金属材质
Unparalleled Metals
“考顿（耐候）钢”，其在自然天气状况下形成稳定的深棕色氧化层，趋于稳定避免进一步锈蚀；若为潮湿气候下发生锈蚀，其易渗透浅色饰面上出现别致的斑块。一直以来，考顿（耐候）钢以独特的外观，天然氧化饰面以及良好的机械性能在室内和户外项目中得到广泛的运用。
“Cor-ten” is a type of steel that, when exposed to the weather conditions, forms a stablerust-like appearance coating of dark brown colour, which inhibits deeper penetration. The oxidation due to high humidity can lead to a risk of staining on light and permeable surfaces. Its unique look and naturally oxidizing finishing, combined with the mechanical resistance make it especially desirable for both outdoor and indoor use.
Greenspan：简称“绿锈”，采用“表面自然氧化”工艺，将紫铜材料做成绿色锈蚀效果。
“Greenspan”, or “green rust” for short, is a process in which copper surfaces oxidize, outdoors or indoors, with green stains.
针对18k纯金材料的表面加工，De Castelli专门研发出“双层金箔处理”工艺，包括双层金箔Gold Leaf和旧式双层金箔Old-looking Gold Leaf两种。
The craftsman-applied double-thickness gold leaf for 18k gold material falls into two categories - “Gold Leaf” and “Old-looking Gold Leaf”.

特别提醒：若实际产品与品牌提供的样品存在差异，并非源于制造缺陷，而是源于手工处理引起的色彩、品质方面的细微差别。清理此类金属制品，以软布沾冷水或非腐蚀性液体洗涤剂为佳。
Notice: Differences compared to the sample provided are not to be considered as a manufacturing defect, but as a feature of the manual processing, that may be susceptible to variances in colour and homogeneity. To clean surfaces in varnished metals, use cold water and non-abrasive or aggressive liquid detergents. Apply with a soft cloth.
