You had traveled across a long distance to Ningbo city of China, and chose to study, work and live here. But do you know the history and culture of this ancient city? Now you are invited  to participate in a series of  activities of “A City of Culture, Ancient City of Reading” and we are happy to take this good opportunity to read and share the city with you.

“书藏古今•悦读古城”活动

        宁波有着1190余年的历史，“三江交汇，一湖居中”的古城格局保留至今，罗城和子城的唐代双城形制在全国独一无二，南门钟鼓楼以及圆形城郭的形制也保持完整，8个历史文化街区各具历史特色，颇具价值。海曙月湖作为宁波的母亲湖，自古以来“衣冠辈出、人物鼎盛”， 唐代大诗人贺知章、北宋名臣王安石、曾巩，南宋宰相史浩，学者杨简、王应麟，明代范钦、丰坊，清初史学大家黄宗羲、万斯同、全祖望，他们或隐居，或讲学，或为官，或著书，都在月湖留下了不可磨灭的印痕；千年以来，月湖始终是浙东地区的文化中心，尤其是两宋、明清时代一度成为全国文化、学术、教育、文献的中心之一，素有“浙东邹鲁、文献之邦、教育之所”的美名…为了让您知道和读懂这座千年古城的历史文化，海曙区对外文化交流协会策划组织在宁波的外籍人士“书藏古今•悦读古城”活动，以自行车方队为主要形式，通过景点接力，文化志愿者的深入讲述和翻译讲解，游学宁波千年古城，记录宁波历史文化，实施文化与旅游结合，共读一座城，让藏在宁波的古今之书活起来，深入了解宁波、品味宁波、爱恋宁波、传播宁波。

Ningbo is a city with history of over 1190 years and the ancient city pattern of "Three rivers crossing, one lake locating in the middle" remains until now. The “Double City” layout from Tang Dynasty, including Luo City (the larger city) and Zi City (the smaller city within the larger one) is unique in the whole country. Bell and Drum Tower at the south-gate, and circular city walls are maintained perfectly. Additionally, 8 historical and cultural blocks represent their own historical features and values. Moon Lake in Haishu district, as the mother lake of Ningbo, is well-known for celebrities and great local talents since the ancient times: The great poet of the Tang Dynasty He Zhizhang, famous Ministers of Northern Song Dynasty Wang Anshi and Zeng Gong, Prime minister Shi Hao, Scholars Yang Jian and Wang Yinglin in Southerm Song Dynasty, Scholars of the Ming Dynasty Fan Qin, Feng Fang, Historian of Ming Dynasty Huang Zongxi, Wan Sitong and Quan Zuwang. They either lived in seclusion, or delivered lectures, either secured an official position, or wrote books, and an indelible imprint of each of them was left in the Moon Lake. Over the past thousands of years, the Moon Lake has always been the cultural center of eastern Zhejiang province, especially in Song, Ming, and Qing Dynasties, when Moon Lake, once became one of the centers of national culture, academy, education and literature, well known as “highland of senior talents of eastern Zhejiang province, the state of literature, the place of education".

In order to make you know and understand the history and culture of such an ancient city of the millennium, the Haishu International Cultural  Association is making a plan to organize a series of  activities of “A City of Culture, Ancient City of Reading” for foreigners in Haishu District of Ningbo. In the form of bicycle tour visiting different attractions, through the joint efforts of cultural volunteers’ in-depth narration and interpretation from translators, we plan to guide you to travel and study the thousand-year-old Ningbo city, record Ningbo history and culture. The implement of the combination of culture and travel enables us to read a city together, allows the ancient and modern books collected in Ningbo to be alive, and enables you to know Ningbo, taste Ningbo, love Ningbo, and advertise Ningbo.

招募文化旅游英语专业志愿者的公告

为了让在宁波工作、学习和生活的外籍人士知道和读懂宁波这座千年古城的历史文化，海曙区对外文化交流协会策划组织了“书藏古今•悦读古城”活动，利用周末时间（每季1天），通过宁波历史文化景点（分主题）的接力，文化志愿者的深入讲述和英语翻译，游学宁波千年古城，记录宁波历史文化，实施文化与旅游结合，共读一座城，让藏在宁波的古今之书活起来，深入了解宁波、品味宁波、爱恋宁波、传播宁波。为了更好地组织好这项活动，特向社会招募文化旅游英语专业志愿者10名。

志愿者基本条件

1.政治素养好，有奉献精神；2.有文化旅游方面英语专长和一定的口译能力；3.懂国际交流礼仪；4.身体健康；5.在宁波学习、工作和生活的。

报名时间：2018年5月7日-2019年10月30日。
