Efficient Knoevenagel condensation catalyzed by imidazole-based halogen-free deep eutectic solvent at room temperature

Hao Qin, Yishan Zhou, Qian Zeng, Hongye Cheng, Lifang Chen, Bingjian Zhang, Zhiwen Qi*(漆志文)

Halogen-free deep eutectic solvent (DES) by imidazole (Im) and p-toluenesulfonic acid (PTSA) with low cost and easy preparation. Efficient Knoevenagel condensation catalyzed by DES at room temperature under solvent-free conditions. Recyclable green DES for consecutive uses up to 5 cycles.

Research papers

Dialkyl imidazolium acetate ionosilica as efficient and recyclable organocatalyst for cyanosilylation reactions of ketones

Thanh Tran Duy, Alysson Duarte Rodrigues, Giang Vo-Thanh, Peter Hesemann*

A novel ionosilica based organocatalyst formed in situ from imidazolium acetate based ionosilica. The material has high potential as a recyclable organocatalyst for cyanosilylation reactions of ketones.

Swelling acidic poly(ionic liquid)s as efficient catalysts for the esterification of cyclohexene and formic acid

Xin Wang1Sanguan Ma1, Bihua Chen, Jingshun Zhang, Yongya Zhang, Guohua Gao*(高国华)

Acidic PILs with high swelling abilities in formic acid exhibited excellent catalytic activities in the esterification of cyclohexene and formic acid, which was comparable with homogeneous catalysts.

Highly efficient synthesis of 1-methoxy-2-propanol using ionic liquid catalysts in a micro-tubular circulating reactor

Yu-Mei Liu, Yan Zhao, Wen-Qiang Gong, Zhang-Min Li, Chao-Li Wang, Duan-Jian Tao*(陶端健)

The combination of micro-tubular circulating reactor with ionic liquid catalysts is reported to be a class of effective process intensification technique for highly efficient synthesis of 1-methoxy-2-propanol.

A bifunctional and recyclable catalyst: Amine and ionic liquid grafting on MOFs for theone-pot synthesis of N-aryl oxazolidin-2-ones

Siying Chong, Tongtong Wang, Haijun Zhong, Lingfei Xu, Hailong Xu, Zhongwu Lv, Min Ji*(纪敏)

The novel heterogeneous catalyst was constructed with both 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide and N, N-dimethylethylenediamine grafted and confined in NH2-MIL-101 nanocages, showing good stability, recoverability, and substrate shape-selectivity for the one-pot synthesis of N-aryl oxazolidin-2-ones from CO2, epoxides, and anilines.

Hexagonal boron nitride: A metal-free catalyst for deep oxidative desulfurization of fuel oils

Peiwen Wu, Linjie Lu, Jing He, Linlin Chen, Yanhong Chao, Minqiang He, Fengxia Zhu, Xiaozhong Chu, Huaming Li, Wenshuai Zhu*(朱文帅)

Hexagonal boron nitride was employed as a metal-free catalyst in oxidative desulfurization of fuel with H2O2 as the oxidant. Due to the boron radicals, the H2O2 is readily activated, achieving ultra-deep desulfurization.

Extractive denitrogenation of shale oil using imidazolium ionic liquids

Shurong Gao*(高淑蓉), Shengfan Fang, Ruozheng Song, Xiaochun Chen*(陈晓春), Guangren Yu*(于光认)

Denitrogenation is a major challenge in the booming rapidly shale oil industry. We developed a new denitrogenation way using some ionic liquids with functional groups, and approximately 100% nitride removal was reached especially for those carbazole and indole species.

Design of functionalized fluorescent ionic liquid and its application for achieving significant improvements in Al3+ detecting

Lu Gan, Jiachen Guo, Siying Che, Qiaoxin Xiao, Mingyang Wang, Jienan You, Congmin Wang*(王从敏)

A novel fluorescent ionic liquid [P66614][HQS] was designed and applied for recognition of Al3+ in aqueous solution. The significant improvements were realized due to the changes in the charge distribution, leading to the stronger binding interaction. The strategy of introducing the appropriate fluorophore into ionic liquid may provide a novel method to develop functional ionic liquids with applications in specific fields.

Construction of NH2-MIL-125(Ti)/Bi2WO6 composites with accelerated charge separation for degradation of organic contaminants under visible light irradiation

Sheng Yin*(尹盛), Yong Chen, Ming Li, Qingsong Hu, Yi Ding, Yifan Shao, Jun Di, Jiexiang Xia, Huaming Li* (李华明)

NH2-MIL-125(Ti)/Bi2WO6 composites were preprared via the growth of Bi2WO6 nanosheets on the surface of NH2-MIL-125(Ti) nanoplates. The intimate contact between the two components accelerated the separation and transfer of charge carriers, which resulted in the improved photocatalytic activity.

Corrosion inhibiting performance and mechanism of protic ionic liquids as green brass inhibitors in nitric acid

Pengcheng Hu*1(胡鹏程), Zhitao Wu1, Junlin Wang, Yuqing Huang, Quanyou Liu, Shu-Feng Zhou

Brass specimen corrosion was inhibited effectively by [BTA][NSA] IL to obtain high inhibition efficiency and low corrosion rate. [BTA][NSA] IL increased the polarization resistance of the brass electrode significantly and suppressed both anodic and cathodic reactions.

A facile ionic liquid approach to prepare cellulose fiber with good mechanical properties directly from corn stalks

Jiming Yang, Xingmei Lu*(吕兴梅), Yanqiang Zhang, Junli Xu, Yongqing Yang, Qing Zhou

By adding L-arginine, cellulose fiber with strong mechanical property was prepared directly from solutions of lignocellulose biomass dissolved in ionic liquids.

Dissolution of highly molecular weight cellulose isolated from wheat straw in deep eutecticsolvent of Choline/L-Lysine hydrochloride

Jiake Wang, Yan Wang, Zhongzheng Ma, Lifeng Yan*(闫立峰)

Highly molecular weight cellulose isolated from wheat straw has been well dissolved in a new green Ch/Lys DES solvent, which can be used as feedstock for cellulose based chemicals and materials.
