森林火灾是一种全球性的变化力量,近年来,在天气、气候和人类活动的影响下,森林火灾的燃烧面积和严重程度都在增加,对气候和生态环境系统等具有重大影响。本文汇集了近期发表在AGU期刊上的与森林火灾相关的研究。
森林火灾产生的风力堪比超级单体雷暴
根据GRL上的一项新研究,大规模森林大火灾火产生的热量足以产生强大的上升气流,其强度与在龙卷风形成的超级单体雷暴中观测到的强度相当。气象雷达数据显示,这些上升气流的强度可达209公里/小时,在地表以上延伸数公里,可引发由火灾引发的雷暴,并对飞行中的飞机构成威胁。
UTC时间2016年8月30日00时,拍摄于博伊西国家森林的照片显示了火羽流顶部以及从充满灰分的较低羽流向高空的高温气柱的过渡。
