The Belt and Road Initiative is an "economic pie" that benefits local people rather than a "debt trap" that some countries may fall into. It is not a geo-political tool but a great opportunity for shared development.
参与“一带一路”建设加快了各国的发展进程，改善了沿线的民生需求，也开辟了互利共赢的前景。

我们听到这样一种说法，有个别人声称要让中美“脱钩”。我认为这显然是不现实的，与中国“脱钩”，就是与机遇“脱钩”，就是与未来“脱钩”，某种意义上也是与世界“脱钩”。
"Decoupling from China will mean decoupling from opportunity, from the future and in a sense from the world," Wang Yi said, noting that the interests of both countries are inseparable.
谈孟晚舟案 不当“沉默的羔羊”
王毅：
我们也支持相关企业和个人拿起法律武器来维护自身权益，不当“沉默的羔羊”。
China supports the company and individual in question in seeking legal redress to protect their own interests and refusing to be victimized like silent lambs.
希望巴印双方化危为机，相向而行，尽快翻过这一页，寻找到两国关系的根本和长远改善之道。
China advised Pakistan and India to quickly turn the page and seek fundamental and long-term improvement in their relations.
中方从一开始就强调，要冷静克制，防止事态升级；要查明真相，对话解决问题。在此过程中，各国的主权和领土完整应当得到充分尊重。
China has stressed from the beginning the need to exercise calm and restraint, prevent escalation, find out what has happened and resolve the matter through dialogue.
谈南海问题：钥匙应掌握在地区国家自己手中
南海局势事关地区稳定，我们欢迎善意的建议，但反对别有用心的炒作和干涉。南海和平稳定的钥匙应该掌握在地区国家自己手中，“南海行为准则”应当由地区国家共同制定、共同遵守，并共同承担责任。
The South China Sea situation concerns regional stability. We welcome well-intentioned advice, but do not accept deliberate smears or interference. The countries in the region should grasp in our own hands the key to peace and stability in the South China Sea. The COC （Code of Conduct） should be developed and honored by countries in the region. We must live up to this responsibility.
朝鲜半岛问题：中方的作用不可替代
王毅：
中国在朝鲜半岛问题上始终坚持无核化目标，坚持对话协商解决问题，坚持维护半岛和平稳定。中国的作用不可替代。
China has been committed to denuclearization and the peaceful settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue and its role is irreplaceable.
双方能够克服障碍，再次聚首，面对面坦诚交换意见，这本身就是积极进展，就值得充分肯定。The leaders from both countries overcame obstacles and exchanged views face-to-face in a candid way, which is positive progress and should be applauded.
中日关系改善刚起步 要做到“知行合一”
王毅：
中日关系的改善只是刚刚起步。接下来要做的应该是“知行合一”。真正做到诚实对待历史，客观认识现实，积极开创未来，以脚踏实地的行动沿着正确的方向坚定不移地向前走。
We are still in the early stage of improving our relations. Looking ahead, we must match our actions to our words, adopt an honest attitude toward history and an objective view of reality, work actively for a better future, and take more solid and determined steps in the right direction.
