UNION | 丝路始航 The Silk Road Story - Chapter I

跟随 UNION 酒吧经理 Matthew 开启古老的丝绸之路探索之旅,全新 Bar Cart 鸡尾酒单带您探索连结东西方的古老贸易路线。通过每月一次的创作,他将向你讲述丝绸之路最具代表性地区的传统、文化和习俗故事。


旅程开始,让我们延续丝绸之路的南线、北线以及海路,开始探寻未知新口味与概念,续写传奇故事。


Our Bars Manager, Matthew Han is taking you on a journey with UNION bar cart to explore the ancient trade routes which connected the East and West. Through his monthly creation he will tell you the stories of traditions, culture and customs of the most iconic regions of the Silk Road.


To commence the journey, let's start where the ancient road of the North, South and Maritime began!



North Route


- 西安 Xian -








Ingredients

Xian Date infused Reserve Dark Rum 

西安大枣浸渍珍藏黑朗姆酒

Osmanthus & Hibiscus infused Rye Whisky 

桂花与洛神花浸渍黑麦威士忌

Vermouth Rosso 红味美思

Vermouth Secco 干味美思

十三朝古都西安是中国历史上无数传奇的见证者,同时它也是丝绸之路的始发站。只有非常有韵味和质感的鸡尾酒才能代表这座城市的独特气质。我们用西安的特产大枣和桂花来诠释当地的风味。朗姆具有强烈的橡木桶风味,比如:焦糖,烟熏香草的味道,恰好和大枣的甜蜜很搭配,再加入一点点的桂花的味道,使酒体更加轻盈和平衡。


Xian is known as one of the ancient capitals for 13 dynasties as well as the starting city of the North silk road. In this cocktail, we use Xian's date and osmanthus infused rum to deliver a caramelized and smoked vanilla flavour which balance the sweet taste from the date, while the osmanthus gives a subtle finish to the drink.




South Route


- 四川 Sichuan -








Ingredients

Sichuan Pepper Gin 四川花椒金酒

Homemade Sichuan Perppercone Syrup 

自制四川花椒糖浆

Lemon Juice 黄柠檬汁

Chambord liqueur 香博利口酒

Fresh Raspberry 新鲜树莓

 

Garnish

Red Chili 红辣椒





因为丝绸之路起源于唐代,而那个时候的货币,除了银子以外,来自四川的丝绸同样给可以作为流通货币,在当时双面蜀绣,锦绣名满天下。受到这种精细纺织品的启发 Matthew 创造了一种绝妙鸡尾酒,尝起来像丝绸一样柔滑,同时使用了四川花椒的来增加口感。


The south route began during the Tang dynasty when Sichuan silk was as valuable as currency for trading. Inspired by this refined textile, Matthew created an elixir that taste just as smooth as silk along with the prominent chilis from Sichuan that spice up the experience.




Maritime Route


- 广东 Guangdong -








Ingredients

Guangdong Preserved Plum infused Cognac 

广东话梅浸渍干邑白兰地酒

Tequila Bianco  白特基拉酒

Ginger Liqueur 姜味利口酒

Lychee Liqueur 荔枝利口酒

Vermouth Rosso 红味美思

Preserved Plum & Cherry Tomato juice 

话梅小番茄汁

Top up Soda water 苏打水


Garnish

Preserved Plum, Marinated Cherry Tomato & Ginger 话梅,腌渍小番茄和沙姜





广东是中国的沿海省份,也是自明朝以来海上丝绸之路的第一个港口,以炎热夏天的甜汤而闻名,这也启发了UNION团队制作这款以白兰地为原料的起泡鸡尾酒的灵感。我们用广东九制话梅泡在干邑酒里,再加上我们的米其林星级餐厅京雅堂最受欢迎的佳肴 ——话梅小番茄给人一种酸甜的感觉。


Guangdong, the first port of the maritime silk route since the Ming dynasty, is famous for its sweet soups during hot summer which inspired the UNION team for this Cognac based fizzy cocktail. We use Guangdong preserved plum (jiuzhi plum) infused in the cognac combined with our Michelin starred restaurant- Jing Yaa Tang's most loved dish, "the cherry tomato marinated in plum sauce" to give a nice sweet and sour taste.
