We continue to explore the ancient trade routes with Union cocktail cart which connected the East and West. Through our bi-monthly creation, listen the stories of traditions, culture and custom of the most iconic regions of the Silk Road.

This time, we explore the 3 regions- Yining, Hetian and Sri Lanka where the ancient road of the North, South and Maritime passed by!

North Route

作为古丝绸之路的北道要冲，中亚草原文化的发源地之一，伊宁历史文化源远流长，繁荣昌盛。在这里几万亩的野生沙棘绘制出一副美丽的画卷。沙棘诱人的色泽，独特的味道，搭配蜜瓜的甘甜，融合多种鲜果的风味，创造出复杂而又新奇的碰撞，透过一层自制莓果口味的奶盖，来探索它内在的魅力。

As one of the northern arteries of the ancient Silk Road and the cradles of grassland culture in the Central Asia, Yining has a long history and prosperous culture. Tens of thousands of acres of wild sea buckthorn draw a beautiful skyline. Using the alluring colour and unique taste of sea-buckthorn as inspiration accompany with honeydew melon's sweetness and a variety of fresh fruit flavours, the team in Union created a complex and novel collision to be discovered through a layer of self-made raspberry cream.

South Route

- 和田 HETIAN-

Ingredients

Bourbon whiskey 波本威士忌

Hetian Jujube 和田大枣

Nuts 坚果

Clarified Banana Juice 澄清香蕉汁

Almond Liqueur 杏仁利口酒

Black Walnut 黑胡桃苦精

和田-丝路名城，玉石之都，这座在丝绸之路南线上的城市，历史悠久，物产丰饶，其和田大枣更是家喻户晓，个大肉厚，香甜可口，我们以波本威士忌萃取和田大枣的风味，又从当地特色小吃坚果麻糖获取灵感，以坚果些许的苦味来平衡红枣的甜蜜，最后以澄清香蕉汁生涩的口感抹去一丝甜腻又赋予了它更加悠长的尾韵。

Hetian, famous Jade city on the South path of the Silk Road with long history and rich products. The Hetian jujube is well known with its meaty pulp and sweet taste. The drink is base on bourbon extraction of Hetian jujube, adding nuts to create slight bitterness inspired by the Hetian's local snack, and finally, clarified banana juice holds a longer finish.

Maritime Route

Ceylon Tea 锡兰红茶

Lime Juice 青柠汁

Tiffin Tea Liqueur 蒂凡茶味利口酒

Soy Milk 豆奶

斯里兰卡自古就是海上丝绸之路的重要一站，优越的海洋位置，可誉为“印度洋上的新加坡”。在当地，锡兰红茶闻名世界，滋味爽口柔和，带花香，涩味少，搭配椰子与豆奶，使用奶洗澄清技术，使其口感轻盈又不失香味浓郁。

Sri Lanka is a significant stop to the Maritime Silk Road. With its superior location, the country is praised as the “Singapore of the Indian Ocean”. Ceylon black tea is Sri Lanka's pride due to its refreshing and soft taste with flower fragrance. With these characteristics, the tea is combined with coconut and soybean milk, then clarified to make the drink light and fragrant.
