CNKI Attended the 2019 Conference of CLA

On October 24-26, 2019, CNKI attended the Annual Conference of California Library Association (CLA) in California, America.

California is one of the most economically developed states in the western part of the United States. It has many world-famous universities and public cultural and educational institutions, and is also one of the largest Chinese settlements in the United States. Sponsored by CLA, this conference is the largest library conference in California. Every year, it attracts more than 1,000 public and university librarians in California.

At the conference, over 200 public and university librarians from California and even Canada visited CNKI booth, and got detailed information of CNKI’s products and resources, such as CNKI-eBooks, Wuxi Magazines, China Art Library, and reference works, etc. Librarians from Nevada County Community Library, Palos Verdes Library and Azusa City Library showed great interest in CNKI’s products and expressed big procurement demand for CNKI’s resources, since Chinese community is always one of their important service objects.

Before the conference, CNKI representatives visited many university libraries in California, including the East Asia Library and Biomedical Library of UCLA, University of Southern California, Claremont Colleges, Dongguk University Los Angeles and so on, and were informed of their scientific researches and library collections in depth. Librarians expressed interest in CNKI's resources, such as masters’ theses, journals, statistical yearbooks and acupuncture videos, and fully exchanged views with CNKI representatives on how CNKI resources and services supported library research and work.

The conference and visiting deepened CNKI's understanding of California library community. CNKI will be committed to providing better services to American customers, helping them to further understand the outstanding researches and cultural achievements of China.
