Tsinghua Equestrian Association (THUEA) is a dynamic hub at Tsinghua University, dedicated to introducing and nurturing equestrian sports among students and faculty. Since its inception in August 2015, it has emerged as one of Tsinghua University's most popular sports associations. Committed to spreading awareness of equestrian sports, THUEA serves as a broad platform for sports exchanges, connecting university teachers and students through the love of horseback riding.

Qishu Zhang goes horse riding with friends

Qishu Zhang, the President of THUEA, shared that her experience in the club changed her perspectives on both the sport and life. “My experience with horseback riding has been incredibly eye-opening as a crucial member of the Equestrian Association. Initially, I thought it was a sport with a high entry barrier. But being a member of the organization dispelled that myth. It turns out that if you're enthusiastic, you're in no obstacles to the sport,” said Qishu.

Silla with the horse

Silla, a French member of THUEA, shares her story of falling in love with horses and equestrianism from a young age. “I started horse riding when I was 6, and grew up loving horses and this sport. It is very demanding physically, and requires you to form a team with your horse, learning to communicate without words. I was very happy to discover Tsinghua's equestrian club, allowing me to ride horses again and experience something I love so dearly,” revealed Silla.

Students practicing equestrian trot and doing basic training

THUEA provides weekly one-on-one equestrian lessons, opening the world of horsemanship to all students and faculty. The training lessons start with learning how to sit firmly on the horse, then trot, and finally, you can ride on the horse. These lessons empower members to gain expertise in their equestrian skills. Dive into the world of THUEA, where passion for horses knows no bounds.
