Sure, being part of royal family would definitely have its perks. Kate and William take paradise vacations, for example. Meghan and Harry had the most incredible wedding, of course. But in a rare personal interview, the Prince’s cousins, princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, have opened up about the not-so-fairytale side to being princesses living in the public eye. Speaking to Vogue magazine in their first ever joint interview, the royal sisters admitted that the constant “mockery” and criticism that they face has often lead to tears, and they’ve struggled with the pressures that their royal roles have presented them with.
在接受采访时,两位公主表示,做社交媒体时代的公主,很难。
“We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses, and doing all of this in the public eye”
“我们是第一人:我们是想要在职业上有所发展,拥有私人生活的年轻女孩子,而我们同时也是公主,要在众目睽睽之下做所有事情。”

2018 is set to be a bumper year for British royalists: with two billion people having recently watched the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, Princess Eugenie of York will take the stage at St George's Chapel, in Windsor, in October, when she marries Jack Brooksbank.
The wedding is, in part, the reason why Princesses Eugenie and her sister Beatrice have agreed to a rare interview with Vogue, in the September 2018 issue. In a year of milestones (Beatrice turns 30 in August), the sisters felt it was the right time to share their experiences as twentysomething working women and members of the Royal family with fashion features editor Ellie Pithers.
“It’s hard to navigate situations like these because there is no precedent, there is no protocol,” Beatrice explained, on a sunny day in June at Royal Lodge, the sisters' childhood home in Windsor. “We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses and doing all of this in the public eye.”
Indeed, Eugenie will need to channel her grandmother’s poise at her upcoming nuptials. “I’m not stressed at all,” she said, of her looming October 12 wedding date. “It’s very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect but then you realise that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.” In addition to compiling Pinterest boards of cakes, her wedding planning has been consumed by her mission to make her life plastic-free. “It’s been eye-opening,” she shares. “My whole house is anti-plastic now – and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well.”
With the spotlight on the young royals at an all-time high, the sisters admitted to occasionally feeling overwhelmed - especially when it comes to social media. Eugenie officially joined Instagram in March, but is not quite at ease posting pictures just yet. “It’s so easy to recoil when you see a perfect image, but it’s important that it’s real. We’re real,” she asserted.
Their coping mechanism is each other; the two are exceptionally close, although they did admit to the odd cross word. “One of the biggest fights we ever had was about a pair of Converse trainers,” Beatrice joked. “We have the same size feet and both of us had identical pairs. One pair got trashed and the other sister may have swapped them.”
今年3月份,两位公主联袂出席参加了We Day活动,并发表了演讲。一起来围观一下吧。

Princess Eugenie has publicly thanked her big sister, Princess Beatrice, for helping her learn to 'live fearlessly', despite a childhood diagnosis of scoliosis.
The painful medical condition causes the spine to twist and curve to one side, and usually starts when sufferers are between the ages of 10 and 15.
The royal, who developed the condition at 12, was forced to undergo an eight-hour operation in order to correct the curvature of her spine and spent three days recovering in intensive care before moving in a wheelchair and making a full recovery, Stylist reports.
Opening about the experience during a joint speech with her sister at the 2018 WE Day Charity Concert on Wednesday (7 March), Eugenie revealed that Beatrice was the one who inspired her to push forward at that difficult time.
'As my big sister, you inspire me,' she said. 'I love that, as a team, we work hard to support each other – no matter what.
'When I was 12, I was diagnosed with, and treated for, scoliosis and I have lived with two 12-inch metal rods in my back.
The newly engaged 27-year-old added: 'It could have impacted my life and stopped me from doing the things I love.
'You encouraged me not to get disheartened. Not to give up. To live fearlessly.'
Eugenie continued: 'Today, I am so lucky to get to work with and support other young women who are going through the same thing.
'To encourage them to not let their diagnosis win. To live fearlessly too.
'And today, as sisters, we stand here to support not only each other but all women.'
Inspirational – and moving – words, as we're sure you'll agree.
