Profile

  • You must have already completed a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and be completing at least a Master's degree at the time of application. Should your studies not be divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, you must have already completed at least 3 years of full time studies at a University or equivalent institution and be in your 4th year of full time studies towards a same diploma

  • Fluency (oral and written) in English and Chinese

  • Education or any other major in the social science fields

  • Good communication skills, including writing skills

  • Strong strategic, analytical skills

  • Good computer and IT skills and experience in using office software packages

  • An awareness of the many facets of a multicultural world and a commitment to international public service are essential

  • The duration of an internship must be between four and six months, at least four days each week, full-time preferred


Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting and translating documents in connection with education polities and laws, government reports, research papers and media reports

  • Assist with translation and proof-reading project documents and reports as well as coordination and implementation of projects and activities

  • Assist in coordinating the organization of seminars, workshops and events

  • Provide assistance to administrative tasks

  • Other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor

Org. Setting and Reporting

The internship is located in the HIV/AIDS Section(HAS), Drug Prevention and Health Branch (DHB), Division for Operations (DO), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna (Austria). The position is for an initial period of two months, starting in October 2017, with the option to extend to a total period of internship to six months, based on the needs of the office and the availability of the intern.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the direct supervision of professional staff of the Section.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist with the implementation of the HIV/AIDS Section programme of work as it relates to UNODC mandate on HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support related to (a) drug use in particular injecting drug use and (b) prison settings. 
More specifically, the intern will:
•Assist the HIV team with the review and drafting of technical publications, project documents, briefing materials and other documents. In doing so, the intern will ensure that a human-rights based-approach is adopted, 
•Support the HIV team with the organization of events in Vienna (including the World AIDS Day). The intern may be expected to attend sessions, gather documentation, attend side events and report back to the HIV Team,
•Assist the HIV team in updating HIV related country profiles (research and drafting skills required), including developing new infographics,
•Assist the team with the drafting of web stories and other materials to be published on UNODC’s website, as well as other social media related tasks
•Perform other tasks as necessary.

Education

Applicants for an internship must meet at the time of application one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); (c) have graduated with a university degree and can commence the internship within one year period of graduation (OFFICIAL PROOF FROM THE UNIVERSITY IN SUPPORT OF ONE OF THE ABOVE OPTIONS HAS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE INSPIRA APPLICATION);
•Be computer literate in standard software applications
•Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
•Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.


Work Experience

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme, but are encouraged to list all relevant work experience in their application.


Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. Fluency in English, i.e. oral and written proficiency is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

1. Professeur de français


Compétences souhaitées :

Type de cours :

Cours de français général (compréhension orale et écrite) pour les agents de nationalité chinoise de l’Ambassade (réceptionnistes, gardiens, standardistes, chauffeurs et agents de service).

 Il est demandé de dispensés 2x 1h30 de cours par semaine pour deux groupes : débutants et semi-débutants, soit un total de 3 heures / semaine. Les heures sont à convenir avec les étudiants.


Qualités attendues :

Rigueur, ponctualité, disponibilité et adaptabilité,enthousiasme et sens du contact avec des étudiants.

Autonomie et efficacité dans le travail, esprit d’équipe et sens de l’organisation.

Nationalité chinoise ou française. Les candidats français devront posséder de bonnes notions de chinois.


Rémunérations :

L’heure de cours est rémunérée 180 RMB net.

2. Professeur de chinois


Compétences souhaitées :

Bonne expérience professionnelle de l'enseignement du chinois langue étrangère.


Type de cours :

Cours de chinois général niveau vrai débutant et semi débutant (compréhension orale et écrite) pour les agents de nationalité française de l’Ambassade. Le professeur devra s’appuyer sur une méthode d’apprentissage et de travail en s’appuyant sur le fraçais.

Il est demandé de dispenser 2x 1h30 de cours par semaine pour deux groupes : 1A (vrais débutants et 1B (semi –débutants) soit un total de 3 heures / semaine. Les jours et heures sont à convenir avec les étudiants. En cas d’un nombre insuffisant d’étudiants (moins de 2 par niveau) le cours est supprimé.


Qualités attendues :

Rigueur, ponctualité, disponibilité et adaptabilité, enthousiasme et sens du contact avec des étudiants.

Autonomie et efficacité dans le travail, esprit d’équipe et sens de l’organisation.

Experts in the field of chemical risks and chemical decontamination management (from Security Health and Environment training to on site first aid treatment solutions), they are growing their team in China and are looking for an administrative and logistic assistant for their Chinese Representative Office, based in Beijing.


Job description:

- The administrative and logistic assistant will be in charge of import follow-up:

  • placing products order in France, follow-up on custom clearance,  delivery (middleman between our importing firm, customs and customers);

  • stock management: checking imported products’ conformity, preparing customers’ orders deliveries;

  • products’ delivery to Chinese customers, and customers’ billing, relation with all related partners (couriers, accountants, etc.);


- Handle all administrative tasks for our office (all office equipment, HR) / support sales teams for hotel / travel booking;


- In charge of office’s accounting with our accountant: translation of the Chinese accounting forms from Chinese to French, reformatting the forms to our company’s standards.

 

Who they are looking for

  • Minimum of 3-4 years working experience either as CEO assistant or administrative assistant in an international company;
