Responsibilities 


  • Assist in collecting documents in connection with education policies and laws, legislation, government reports, research papers and media reports and articles, journals for the education programme;

  • Assist with preparation of project documents and reports to support the supervisor in the coordination and implementation of UNESCO Education programme, education projects, SDG4 Coordination and activities;

  • Assist in the organization of UNESCO education programme seminars, workshops and events;

  • Assist and contribute towards the preparation of education projects proposals for donor funding;

  • Assist in the follow-up of education sector at Regional Bureau and UNESCO headquarters tasks and deadlines and implementation aspects of education programme;

  • Assist in the follow-up with UNESCO partners in Education in the Cluster Countries and Category II  Centres;

  • Provide assistance to administrative tasks to support the staff of the UNESCO Beijing Education Section;

Profile:



  • Full time postgraduate or Ph.D. student at a University or equivalent institution. 

  • Excellent command of English (oral and written).

Responsibilities:



Under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist for Culture, the Contractor will perform the following functions:

  • Assist in the implementation of cultural projects and activities related to preservation and management of cultural and natural heritage, safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage and cultural & creative industries.

  • Assist with drafting, translation, editing and proof-reading of project-related documents, speeches, press-releases and reports.

Essential duties and responsibilities

As the Communication Officer, you will provide communication and social media support to the Embassy, in order to carry out its media and communication objectives. Among others, your tasks will be :


1. Communication

- Develop communication concepts and plans for major projects of the Embassy and secure their implementation.

- Develop on your own communication tools, edit content and follow production of communication tools (brochures, leaflets, etc).

- Translate contents for various communication supports of the Embassy from English to Chinese and vice-versa.


2. Social media

- Support and assist the Social Media Officer in the development of the social media channels and network of the Embassy among social media influencers.

- Under the supervision of the Social Media Officer, create original content (text, photo, video).


3. Communication tools
- Develop the communication tools of the Embassy (press releases, newsletter, event brochures, Swiss Agenda) in English and Chinese in a professional way and high-level graphic design standards.


4. Embassy website

- Follow and define up-dating needs for the Embassy website in collaboration with the head of section and IT manager and division.


5. Project management
- Manage when needed projects in the field of culture, communication and media for the promotion of the image of Switzerland.
- Manage various administrative activities and replacements, fulfill various other tasks when needed, in case of absence of other C&M section colleagues.


Requirements and skills

- Chinese native speaker; excellent English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German and/or French an additional asset.

- Beijing resident or willing to relocate to Beijing at their own cost.

- University Master’s degree in PR, media, marketing or international relations with preferably overseas experience.

- Excellent writing aptitudes in Chinese and English and 2 years of professional experience in communication, journalism or international relations.

- Fast learner, ability to work independently; strong organizational & analytical skills.

- Communicative and creative personality & good team player.

- Work experience in project management.

- Proficiency in MS Office and graphic design tools.

Job Description:

The Accounting Assistant (AA) is an integral part of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Team in the Office of the Controller. AA is primarily responsible for the maintenance of accounting journal entries in the financial system in accordance with the Bank’s accounting policies and undertakes various periodical reconciliation work. In addition, he/she will be the daily contact with various departments and IT service provider on matters relating to the Bank’s SAP financial module. Under the supervision of the Senior Accounting Officers the AA performs his/her duties in a consistent, accurate and timely fashion. 


The key responsibilities for the Accounting Assistant include but are not limited to:

Compose and input journal entries into financial system (SAP);

Maintenance of sub-ledger from the accounting system;

Review business contracts and ensure proper recording of accrual information;

Review contracts for fixed assets and intangible assets of the Bank to ensure proper recording of asset and depreciation/amortization;

Maintenance of accounting workpapers and transformation of certain paper data into electronic format;

Perform bank statements reconciliation as well as accounts payable and receivable reconciliation on a periodic basis;

Resolving questions on SAP financial system with various departments and system vendors;

Participate in system enhancement and user testing;

Safekeeping of accounting vouchers and supporting documents;

Follow-up on internal control points raised by external and internal auditors and update status periodically;

Undertake ad-hoc assignments at the discretion of the supervisor. 


Selection Criteria:

3 to 5 years of relevant practical experience working in the financial reporting function of an international bank, large organization or public accounting firm;

Strategic problem solver with sound knowledge in financial accounting and reporting.

Strong financial analysis skills. Knowledge of SAP is preferred. 

A high level of personal integrity and a sense of accountability, and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Proficient in verbal/written English and Chinese

Team player who can communicate for results.

联合国教科文组织现已开放2019年国际扫盲奖的申请和提名,该奖项旨在表彰世界范围内推动扫盲运动的杰出项目和个人, 今年的主题为“扫盲和多语制“。


自1967年起,教科文组织国际扫盲奖已颁发给了490多个扫盲领域内的杰出贡献者和创新者。这些项目和计划由世界各国政府、非政府组织和个人发起,并已因其出色成绩得到广泛认可和支持。


对于扫盲和教育的整体发展而言,鼓励多语制都将代理积极影响,尤其有助于实现可持续发展目标4(确保包容和公平的优质教育,让全民终身享有学习机会)及其分目标4.6(确保所有青年和大部分成年男女具有识字和计算能力)。多语言教育能够增加更多的教育机会,促进少数民族和/或土著人民,特别是女童和妇女享有平等的教育。


教科文组织通过该奖项支持有效的扫盲实践,并鼓励对教育的重视,以期缩小约7.5亿人口的文化差距。


扫盲奖由2部分组成,每年颁发给5名获奖者:


教科文组织世宗国王扫盲奖(2个名额):由韩国政府资助于1989年设立,着重奖励母语扫盲教育和培训的发展和使用中的优秀项目。


联合国教科文组织孔子扫盲奖(3个名额):由中国政府出资于2005年设立,旨在奖励促进成人扫盲,特别关注偏远地区和失学青少年,尤其是女童和妇女。


每个奖项得主将获得奖章、证书及2万美元奖金。


申请及提名条件


政府、非政府组织和个人均可申请。所有的申请都需提交至相关提名受理机构,如项目所在国的联合国教科文组织全国委员会或与联合国教科文组织有正式伙伴关系的非政府组织。申请可通过在线平台递交,有关申请和提名程序详细信息可查询联合国教科文组织扫盲奖网页。
