神奇教师 | 北京市八一学校国际部朱驭敏:我们的化学“学霸”,都是体育老师教的!

由顶思联合全国多家知名国际学校、教育集团、媒体等机构,共同启动的“神奇教师”系列活动即将步入公共评选阶段,今天介绍的是北京市八一学校国际部的朱驭敏老师。


他,爱教学,也爱健身。


课堂上,他精通化学、环境科学、人体运动学。


课堂外,他热衷于尝试各种不同的运动训练项目,他是美国运动委员会的认证健身教练、健身营养专家、功能性训练专家,也是美国国家运动医学学会的认证运动纠正训练专家,CrossFit® 一级教练员。


寒暑假,他还热衷于去国外参加志愿服务活动。

对健身的热爱,促使他成为了北京市八一学校国际部的健身指导教练。除了每周两次的团体训练课,他们更是开展了大型的校园体能竞赛和定向越野比赛。社团在今年五月获得了北京市八一学校新星社团和国际部优秀社团荣誉。


我眼中的创新课堂


一、精心准备的课程材料


教学不是单纯的把课本讲述一遍。教学也是学习,是将知识转化成能让大众理解的信息。是在细致阅读课本的每一章节后,把关键的信息整理出来,再用自己的话写成能让学生更容易读懂的讲义和学习资料。虽然每天大部分时间都在备课,但是整理出来的讲义不仅能提高授课效率,更为学生提供了一套整理好的学习笔记。


二、 创新的运动科学课程


新开设的人体运动学是一门面向高中生的选修课程,它将理论与实践相结合。通过科学原理和知识的阐述,让同学们更好地了解人体与运动以及营养之间的关系。通过多样训练的实践,让同学们学会更好地掌握好自己的身体,并体验运动带来的乐趣。


三、丰富的导师组活动


如何能让学生学习除了课本以外的知识?每周两次的导师组早会是最好的时间。每周,每个月的主题都不一样,包括:月末的自我反省与目标设定,碳足迹测量,运动和食物记录,照片收集,读书分享,等等。在活动中收获新的知识。

(个人陈述)


没有坚实的教育基础,人类社会便不会向文明前进。在全球化的驱使之下,我们所处的新时代需要越来越多拥有多元化背景,多种能力的人才,而新时代人才的培养更需要高质量的教育。


21世纪的教学发展离不开科技的使用。但不管最新的科学发现会如何改变我们的生活,新的技术会给我们带来多大的便捷,优秀的教育最离不开的是优秀的教师。而决定一个教师教学质量最关键的部分其实在于他的教学理念


一个好的老师很关注自己的教学,但他更应该关注的是学生的学习。从我个人的角度而言,他不会是一个死板严格的讲师,而是一个能够将自己对所爱学科的热情传递到学生身上的使者。如果一位教师对自己所授学科常年保持着热情,他一定会不断地通过学习来提高自己的专业知识,同学们也会被其热情所感染而收获启发。


在未来,课程以及课程材料的设计还应该更关注于知识的阐述方式。枯燥的知识如果能够通过有趣的方式呈现出来,将能够引起更多学生产生兴趣。兴趣的诱导会产生高的自我效能,使得学生在自己感兴趣的科目上也会投入更多,学习得更有效率。


一位优秀的教师还会是一名好的辅导员,他们能够通过在课堂内外的日常交流了解学生的真正所需,并给予指导和帮助。每个学生都不一样,都有着自己的特点和学习能力,每个学生都可以在所学科目中做到最好,但是需要一个适合他们的学习方式。作为曾经在海外求学中的一员,由于有着不一样的基础知识和学习特点,我和大部分的同学一样,经历过不适应期。如果当时我的老师能够帮我制定一份适合我的学习方案,或许会当时的适应过程会更加顺利一些。


在未来,关注学生个人特点的教学方法应该得到推广和应用。此外,日常的交流还可以建立良好的师生关系,良好的师生关系能够带来积极的反馈。而来自于学生的积极的反馈,不管是在教学还是课程设计上都有很大的价值。


我还坚信的一点是教与学不应该单单局限于课本中的知识。我爱生活,我抓住能抓住的机会去体验和发现。我爱团队建设,我爱志愿活动,我爱体能训练。在这些活动中所锻炼的组织领导能力,所建立的社会责任感使我一生收益,这是书本的知识所无法替代的。在未来的课堂上,这些无形的知识也是应该传递给学生的。


回顾自己过去的学生时代,感恩一直有好的老师在我身边。正因为有这些好的模范,在化学实验室收获丰富的我最终选择了成为一名高中教师。做一名能够不断自我成长进步,不断与他人分享自己知识与经验的教师,我觉得是一个能终生受益的决定。



2017年8-9月,顶思联合全国多家知名国际学校、教育集团、媒体等机构,共同启动“神奇教师”系列活动,聚焦国际学校发展的中坚力量,挖掘双语学科教师的精彩故事,分享充满创意的教育理念和实践。


此次活动即将步入公共评选阶段,而后将邀请由国际学校校长、教学主任等人组成的学院派评审团,负责专业评分;和由网络大众组成的大众派评审团,参与网络投票。从教育创新、学生发展、团队贡献和个性指数四个方面,综合评选出首批最具代表性的“神奇教师”!敬请期待!



《如何建设面向未来的课堂》英文原文:


Human society will not advance towards civilization without a solid foundation of education.Driven by the current trend towards globalization, we are stepping into a new era calling for multicultural talents with diversebackgrounds, which in turn creates a drastic increase in the demand for high quality education.


Good education heavily relies on talented educators. There are claims that classroom settings in the 21st century should be a high tech centered learning environment. Nevertheless, whatever impact latest science discovery may have on us, whatever convenience the newest technology application may bring to us, one thing for a teacher that will not easily change as a function of time yet most effectively contribute to education excellence is his teaching philosophy.


A good teacher really cares about his teaching but cares even more about how the students are learning. From my own perspective, he is not a rigid instructor who mechanically imparts knowledge and skills from textbook, but rather an enthusiastic promoter who engages his own passion to foster students’ interest into the subject. A great passion for the subject leads to ones’ intense delight in passing knowledge onto students, and a continuous desire to improve his skills through preparation. In turn, the students can also learn well if they are inspired by a teacher’s love for the subject. Students also learn best when they are interested; they are naturally curious, and once they are truly intrigued, they will actively seek for new knowledge rather than simply loading their brains with information. 


Therefore, course and study materials in the future, in my point of view, should also be prepared and presented in an interesting and interactive environment, which will ultimately make the student want to learn more.


Furthermore, a good teacher is someone who can as a mentor to be connected with students on a personal level to understand their real needs and to give guidance and support. Everyone is different. Every student has the capability to learn, but each of them deserves a way of learning tailored to his or her needs. As a foreigner myself, I went through the difficulties of studying abroad as I came from another culture with weaker English and different fundamental knowledge.


I was wishing that I could have a personal built education system for more effective learning. In spite of that, it is now our responsibilities to help our future students overcome these learning obstacles. Moreover, when students are connected with their teachers, they are more likely to ask questions and give effective feedback; which is of great value in planning and adapting lectures.


What I also believe is teaching and learning does not end in just the classroom. I seek opportunities to explore life. I am keen on a variety of activities including student government, volunteering and fitness training; from which I developed social conscientiousness and gained plenty of leadership skills. All these valuable assets that have played profound effect on my life could weigh more than paper based knowledge and should be passed onto students as well.


I have had a great fortune to be accompanied by great educators throughout my life. And inspired by those life models, I took on a job as a science teacher in an International high school after years of research in chemistry because I realize that even though I am good at research, I am better when I am working with people. It is a lifetime rewarding decision to be someone who can continuously improve and update himself and constantly empower others with knowledge and his life experience.
