Yang’s group reported a method to generate sparse random compressive sampling matrix with high orthogonality in multimode fiber, which enables high-contrast imaging of complex objects with eight times enhancement on sampling time. The cover image illustrates the mechanism of modulated sparse random matrix-based CS method in rapidly acquiring 3D structures of the alveolar tissue with a single ultrathin MMF probe inserted along the lung lumen toward the end of bronchioles (see the short communication by Zhenyu Dong et al. on page 1224).
