Huili School Hangzhou recognised during BEED Awards 2020
This week, Huili School Hangzhou, a school under Wellington College China, received the Asia Characteristic School Award during the BEED Awards 2020. The awards were presented as part of the 12th Asia School Construction Conference.
The BEED Awards were initiated by BEED Asia, the host of the Asia School Construction Conference, as a way to recognise and celebrate the achievements of corporations, organisations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the education industry.
The construction of a 'characteristic school' is emerging as a major trend in modern-day education reform. In recent years, educators and education professionals have been advocating for campuses to be constructed with diverse features and facilities in place that will help schools nurture the talents of their pupils. As a leading expert on school development in China, BEED Asia believes that school campuses are more than just venues for pupils to attend classes; they are vessels for knowledge transmission.
With a campus that is both functional and charming, Huili School Hangzhou outshone other contenders and was honoured to receive the Asia Characteristic School Award from BEED Asia. We would like to extend our congratulations to Huili School Hangzhou for receiving this prestigious award.
Situated in the Xiaoshan Innovation Polis in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Huili School Hangzhou and Wellington College International Hangzhou are dedicated to delivering world-class holistic education to families in and around Hangzhou. The schools have devoted themselves to building the most progressive and practical campus that they can, to better serve their community.
Our Hangzhou campus adopts the same Victorian architectural style as our alma mater – Wellington College in England – with teaching areas, school halls, multi-purpose areas, boarding accommodation, a library, an indoor sports hall, three football pitches, a basketball court, a badminton court and two swimming pools in place. All facilities are designed to ensure that our pupils can take part in a diverse range of quality academic and extracurricular activities. It is our hope that these facilities will aid in the holistic development of our pupils, encouraging them to grow and acquire new talents that will help them thrive in an ever-changing world.
A well-facilitated campus provides an excellent foundation for holistic education. Huili School Hangzhou received this accolade from BEED Asia thanks to the ongoing efforts of its staff members who, along with a number of external parties, have all dedicated countless hours to the development and improvement of their campus. We look forward to making further strides toward our endless pursuit of creating the best learning environment possible for our pupils!
Founded in 2018, Huili School Hangzhou was accredited as a member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) in its second year of operation. Several aspects of the school have been commended as "best practice within the COBIS group of schools."
