On 1 June 2021, International Children’s Day, Wellington College China contributed to the education industry in China once again. We are honoured to announce the successful conclusion of Huili School Nantong’s capping ceremony. Leaders of the Nantong Education Bureau and the Suxitong Science & Technology Industrial Park were among the guests in attendance who witnessed this milestone event for Wellington College China.
Huili School Nantong
Huili School Nantong and Huili Nursery Nantong will offer a 15-year education covering Nursery, Primary School, Junior High and High School with boarding options available for up to 900 pupils. Designated to be Wellington College China's largest school, the campus has a total planned area of 80,000m² and an enrolment capacity of over 2000. The school will feature independent learning areas, science laboratories, a performing arts centre and a sports complex complete with an indoor sports hall, swimming pools and football pitch. Scheduled to open in September 2022, Huili School Nantong will begin accepting Chinese pupils soon.
Wellington College China founded its first Huili bilingual schools in Shanghai and Hangzhou in 2018. The schools quickly earned excellent reputations for being among the best bilingual schools in China. The Huili brand continues to build a team of talented educators and a host of educational resources. Opening a new campus in Nantong's Suxitong Science & Technology Industrial Park will make a meaningful contribution to the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Wellington College China Founder and Chairman Ms Joy Qiao expressed her happiness as she said,
Huili Nantong’s groundbreaking ceremony in January 2020 is still fresh in my mind. Within just a year, familiar faces gather again. I’m very grateful for Nantong’s authorities, education bureau and Suxitong Park’s management committee. Since preparation for Huili Nantong’s opening has started, these units have given us immense support. I would like to thank them for their insightful advice and great execution ability. I look forward to seeing Huili Nantong thriving in Suxitong Park and becoming a benchmark of bilingual education in the Yangtze River Delta, allowing our premium education model to reach more families and children in China.
”Toward the end of the ceremony, Wellington College China Executive Master Mr Paul Rogers delivered a speech as well, commenting that,
Jiangsu and Nantong are renowned for their high-quality education, especially when attitude, dedication and professionalism toward education is concerned. As such I look forward to working closely with experts and scholars from Nantong’s education bureau and other relevant authorities and welcome the fruitful results we will surely achieve with their guidance and support.
”Thanks to the hard work of the project and construction team, as well as stakeholders from all units, Huili School Nantong's capping ceremony was a success and a sign that construction will be completed on schedule. Since construction commenced in January 2020, the project team has made regular site inspections, working closely with the construction team. We have made immense progress even in the face of many challenges. This is an achievement that we can all be proud of.
The founding of Huili Nantong bestows us with more opportunities to serve the society. In line with our ethos, with the school’s opening in September 2022, Huili Nantong continues to “cultivate talent through virtue, kindness and integrity.” With our excellent bilingual curriculum, outstanding academic teams, holistic approach with a focus on wellbeing and a bespoke all-through education, we are confident that we will create the best learning environment for our pupils and contribute to the prosperity of China.
