Addressing climate change is an important issue in global water governance and the economic and social development agenda of countries. With the theme of "Global Water Issues under Extreme Conditions", "The Second Undergraduate Forum of Global Water Issues" jointly discussed global climate, water resources utilization, hydraulic engineering, sustainable development and other issues, aiming to respond to global climate governance, promote students' exchanges on global water issues, enhance mutual trust, build consensus, giving a voice to youth, interpret youth responsibility, and contribute youth strength to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. The forum was attended by 38 students from Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Sichuan University and China Agricultural University.
应对气候变化是全球水治理和各国经济社会发展议程中的重要议题。本次“全球水问题本科生论坛”以“极端条件下的全球水问题”为主题，共同探讨全球气候、水资源利用、水利工程、可持续发展等问题，旨在响应全球气候治理，促进同学们在全球水问题方面的交流，增进互信，凝聚共识，发出青年之声，诠释青年担当，为人类命运共同体建设贡献青年力量。参加论坛的有来自清华大学、武汉大学、四川大学和中国农业大学的38位学生。
Part 1. 嘉宾介绍
Prof. Mohammad Shamsudduha
Prof. Mohammad Shamsudduha is from the Institute of Risk and Disaster Reduction, University College London. The lecture theme is: "The Bengal Water Machine: Quantified freshwater capture in Bangladesh."
Prof. Guo Bo
Prof. Guo Bo is from the Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences，University of Arizona. The lecture theme is: "How has subsurface hydrology evolved to solve new environmental challenges?"
Dr. Ahmed
Dr. Ahmed is from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Tsinghua University. The lecture theme is: "Challenges of water resources in Egypt and the policies to minimize the potential impacts."
The forum invited Liao Ying, the Director of the Center for Global Competence Development at Tsinghua University, and Shi Zhidan, from the Center for Global Competence Development at Tsinghua University. At the same time, we also invited Professor Jin Feng, Professor Wang Jinting, Professor Tang Wenzhe, Professor Cui Yifei, Professor Huang Duruo, Professor Wu Bisheng, Professor Lei Huimin, Professor Wang Rui, Professor Yuan Jing and Professor Li Tiejian from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering of Tsinghua University to attend.
论坛邀请了清华大学学生全球胜任力发展指导中心主任廖莹老师，全球胜任力发展指导中心石智丹老师。同时，我们还邀请了清华大学水利水电工程系的金峰老师、王进廷老师、唐文哲老师、崔一飞老师、黄杜若老师、吴必胜老师、雷慧闽老师、王睿老师、袁兢老师、李铁键老师出席。

Part 3. 同学风采
The theme of the first sub-forum is: Global Climate Change, Carbon Neutralization.
Liang Shanbai and Li Huaqi respectively took the Horn of Africa and the Yangtze River Basin as examples to elaborate on the global drought under extreme climate change. Cao Meng further shared the prediction of extreme hydrological events. Wang Xuesong and Ning Changkui respectively pointed out the phenomenon and prevention of water disasters from the aspects of glacial lake burst disasters on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and floods, tsunamis and water shortages in general. And Wang Zixuan, Yu Zekai and Su Hongming considered the goal of carbon neutrality from three perspectives: the relationship between energy demand and "dual carbon" target, the challenges faced by "dual carbon" target and the storage of carbon dioxide. Zhou Hongyu introduced the impact of formation characteristics on hydrogen storage. Yu Chenchen introduced the distribution and harm of microplastics and proposed measures that may help reduce the impact of microplastics. Ke Jianan pointed out the impact of temperature rise on cyanobacteria blooms in lakes under climate change.
分论坛一主题为：全球气候变化、碳中和
梁山柏、李华琪同学分别以非洲之角和长江流域为例阐述极端气候变化下的全球旱情。曹檬同学进一步对极端水文事件的预估进行了分享。王雪松、宁昌奎同学则分别从青藏高原冰湖溃决灾害和较为笼统的洪水、海啸和水资源短缺方面指出了水灾害的现象及其防治。王子轩、余泽恺、苏泓鸣同学分别从能源需求与双碳目标的关系、双碳目标面临的挑战和二氧化碳的封存三个角度对碳中和目标进行了思考。周泓宇同学介绍了地层特性对储氢的影响。余陈陈同学对微塑料的分布和危害进行了介绍并且提出了可能有助于减少微塑料影响的措施。柯嘉南同学指出了气候变化下温度升高对湖泊蓝藻水华的影响。

The theme of the second sub-forum is: Hydraulic Engineering, Marine Science and Engineering.
Tang Shaojie took Zipingpu Hydropower Station as an example to share the seismic research of hydropower stations. Li Jiapeng introduced the advantages and disadvantages of offshore wind power and wave-structure interaction. Hu Song and Wang Jing respectively studied the current situation of dam construction and the factors that need to be considered and the damage and construction of post-earthquake dams. Zhaxi Pingcuo introduced the current situation of coastal erosion and sea level rise and analyzed its influencing factors. Gu Zichuan shared his research on fish-friendly turbines, while Lu Hongyu shared his thoughts and research on building a park city river and lake network under the guidance of Tianfu Blue Net.
分论坛二主题为：水利工程、海洋科学与工程
汤少劼同学以紫坪铺水电站为例对水电站抗震研究进行了分享。李佳鹏同学则对海上风电优缺点及波浪-结构物的相互作用进行了介绍。胡松、王静两位同学分别从修建水坝的现状及需要考虑的因素和震后大坝的损坏及修建进行了研究。扎西平措介绍了岸滩侵蚀和海平面上升的现状并对其影响因素进行了分析。顾子川同学分享了他对鱼类友好型水轮机的小调研。陆泓羽同学则以天府蓝网为指导，分享了自己对于打造公园城市河湖网络的思考研究。

The theme of the third sub-forum is: Water Ecological Environment and Water Resources Management.
From the perspective of drought, Wang Shuaishuai, Nie Yifan and Jin Yancen explained the great impact of drought in the Yangtze River Basin, the Dongting Lake drought and the extreme drought. In contrast, Peng Bo, Yin Qingyang and Lei Yuxin focused their attention on water pollution, choosing emergent water pollution management measures, sewage treatment and water resources, and water pollution caused by nuclear accidents as their topics.
As for the water problem, Guo Zhanan and Chen Hanzhang respectively gave their thoughts on the two aspects of cross-basin governance and water rights. Huang Xing made a specific analysis of the water problem of the Yellow River and proposed some solutions. Li Runtao finally put the theme of the presentation on the problem of meeting local needs after the water problem is solved.
In addition to the water problem, Qinduan, Muladili focused on the security of water resources and food. Xiang Yang and Xiao Jiacheng made a series of analyses on the impact of climate change on the Lancang-Mekong River basin and Lancang-Mekong cooperation, as well as the consequences of changes in water reserves on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Jia Jinkai introduced the generation mechanism and prediction method of heavy precipitation. Li Yize showed the theme of natural changes seen from the water.
分论坛三主题为：水生态环境、水资源综合治理。
王帅帅、聂奕帆以及金妍岑同学都从干旱的角度出发，分别阐释了长江流域干旱、洞庭湖干旱以及极端干旱三个问题所带来的巨大影响。与之相对的，彭博、尹庆杨、雷雨欣三位同学将关注点放在了水污染上，选择了突发性水污染管理措施、污水处理与水资源、核事故造成的水污染作为他们展示的主题。
而针对水问题，郭站安、陈翰章同学各自从跨流域治理与水权问题两个方面给出了他们的思考。黄兴同学则对黄河水问题作了具体的分析并提出了一些解决方案。李润韬同学最后将展示的主题放在了水问题解决后满足地方需求的问题上。
除水问题外，覃端、木拉迪力同学关注水资源与粮食的安全问题。项阳、肖佳成同学分别对气候变化对澜湄流域及澜湄合作的影响及青藏高原水储量变化所带来的后果做了一系列分析。贾劲楷同学介绍了强降水产生机理及预测方法。李依泽同学则展示了从水中窥见自然变化的主题。

The theme of the fourth sub-forum is: Big Data and Intelligence, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
Wang Chunhe first introduced the assessment and prevention of storm surge disasters. Hu Yingjie introduced big data and intelligence. Luo Aobo and Lin Taijun showed the distribution of Manila Trench earthquake damage to tsunami, the impact of the earthquake on dam and the safety of dam respectively from the earthquake.
分论坛四主题为：大数据与智能化、防灾减灾。
王春贺同学首先介绍了风暴潮灾害的评估和预防，胡英杰同学介绍了大数据与智能化。罗奥博与林台埈都从地震出发，分别展示了马尼拉海沟地震对海啸危害的分布和地震对水坝的影响和水坝的安全性两个主题。

Part 5. 活动收获
The Undergraduate Forum on Global Water Issues is an important part of the Global Competency Training Program of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering. The smooth implementation of the Undergraduate Forum on Global Water Issues is inseparable from the support of teachers and guests and the active participation of students.
In this forum, the students expressed their views on the water problems in the world from different perspectives and achieved double progress in thought and ability. In the course of topic selection, the students had in-depth exchanges with their tutors, broadening their professional horizons; and their academic ability was improved by consulting literature. In the trial session, the students improved the content of the presentation and strengthened their ability to control the time through the guidance of the teacher. In the final forum, students can express their views confidently and methodically. During the forum, guests' lectures and teachers' comments guide us to pay more attention to the global water problem under climate change and prepare for the problems we may face in the future.
全球水问题本科生论坛是水利全球胜任力培养计划的重要环节。本次全球水问题本科生论坛的顺利开展，离不开老师、嘉宾的支持和同学们的积极参与。
在这次论坛中，同学们从不同的角度出发，对当今世界存在的水问题发表了自己的看法，实现了思想与能力上的双重进步。在选题环节，同学们与导师深入交流，拓宽了专业视野；通过查阅文献资料，提升了学术能力。在试讲环节，经过老师的悉指导，同学们对展示内容不断改进，并增强了时间的把控能力。在最终的论坛上，同学们都能够自信且有条不紊地把自己的观点表达出来。论坛期间嘉宾们的讲座以及各位老师的点评引导着大家更进一步地关注气候变化下的全球水问题，为未来可能面对的问题提前做好准备。
