Submissions Open for SHQFF 2021 Shorts
Founded in 2016, SHQFF is a platform for queer cinema,
screening some of the best films from around the world
to explore diverse meanings of love and queer culture.
The arrival of the third decade of the 21st century marks the start of a brand new era. The span of a decade, with everything that can happen in the span of ten years, is always used to divide time. This implies that another period of accumulation starts while another chance of recapitulation awaits.
As time consistently links different lives together, it also composes stories out of the ordinary. Every year since the establishment of SHQFF in 2016, we have collected a variety of stories from all over the world for our Shorts unit and, in turn, shared them with our audience through the miracles of the silver screen. What incredible stories will we see in the 2020s? In what ways will these stories define the coming era? We are anxious for the answers as much as you are.
