NBA Star Bobby Brown Carves Name on Great Wall, Netizens Shocked

The writing is on the wall, and people are not happy about it.
When NBA player Bobby Brown recently posted an image of his own signature scribbled on the Great Wall, netizens were not amused.
The Houston Rockets point guard posted the picture of his graffiti, along with the caption “Had a blast at the Great Wall of China today,” to his Weibo microblog on Monday afternoon.
Soon after the upload, the 32-year-old player received outraged comments from Weibo users who felt it wasn't his prerogative to draw graffiti on China's most famous landmark.
"Are you proud of your carving?" one user asked. “This is a part of world heritage, not the toilet of your home.”
Brown responded to the negative feedback with a post, which he has since taken down.
Brown certainly isn’t the first tourist to deface a beloved ancient landmark. Back in 2013, a teenage Chinese tourist wrote “Ding Jinhao was here” on the Temple of Luxor. A picture of the teen’s vandalism on the Egyptian Temple went viral. Like Brown, the teenager was heavily criticized on social media for his disrespectful behavior.
The teenager’s parents apologized for their son’s behavior and luckily the writing was able to be washed off. Hopefully future tourists will realize their names do not belong on wonders of the ancient world.
