Charlotte Brontë’s classic novel is brought to life by the NCPA. The beloved tale follows the eponymous heroine from orphaned baby and lonely child to passionate and independent young woman. Championed for its strong feminist elements, Jane Eyre combines Gothicism with Romanticism to touch on the themes of morality, social class and love. Led by a Chinese cast, the NCPA’s production of Jane Eyre has played to full houses and high praise.

Apr 15: Dining Out for the LGBT Center
You can support Beijing's LGBT community and eat some damn good food all at the same time. Bistro Jado will be serving a 3-course meal for the occasion, featuring Parisian vegetarian salad, bacon or chicken baguette pizzas, and French macarons. Proceeds will benefit the Beijing LGBT Center.

Apr 15: Great Leap's 2017 Back Alley Chili Cook-Off
It's April, which means it’s time for Great Leap's annual chili cook-off. Twelve of Beijing's best chili masters will gather in the courtyard of Great Leap Original #6, with vats of homemade chili in hand, to prove their recipe is the best. The catch is they can only use one imported ingredient. Each recipe will be sampled by all you chili-loving judges! So come hungry.
