All the Latest News in Beijing's Drinking & Dining Scene

The thing about fun is that sometimes when you’re having a ton of it you get transported into this Fun Zone where all you wanna do is have more fun. It sucks you in with sake bombs and spits you out the next day with six missed calls from a McDonald’s delivery man. At least that was my last Friday, IDK about yours really.

Beyond Yakitori went above and beyond (yakitori, LOL!) with the launch of its terrace; I believe I already mentioned the part about waking up with missed calls from McDonald’s. And White Tiger Village launched two new menus, one for cocktails by Capital Spirits, another for food by chef Starry, and we can officially say the food’s been kicked up a notch. I honestly don’t know how to describe the octopus, other than Cowabunga! Get it and you’ll see what I mean.

And still. I hiiiighly recommend paying a visit to Korean tofu stew spot Dubujib’s new branch in Pacific Century Plaza.

Also, if you are a person who eats food in Beijing, you will probably enjoy the new beef rendang grilled cheese at Village Cafe. It’s up there with Taco Bar’s grilled cheese, which is probably the best grilled cheese. Shout out to Taco Bar for getting mentioned in this news column without even having any news. It’s just a really good grilled cheese!

Finally, get your digestive tracts ready for Bird on a Wire, the next concept to pop up at Hatchery, all about New Zealand free-range chicken. (Although the space is closed... for now, at time of print). Alright, that’s it for now. See you Fun Havers at the Fun Parade.
