Ultra-Fast New Bullet Trains Now Run Between Beijing and Tianjin

Starting today, China’s much-anticipated new trains will be running from the capital to Tianjin and Hebei Province, China Daily reports.

The new trains – which have been dubbed Fuxing (meaning rejuvenation) – were first unveiled back in July on the Beijing-Shanghai line. They can run at a max speed of 400km/h but will likely run at speeds up to 350km/h, much faster than the usual 300km/h that most trains in China currently operate at. They are also the first trains to be fully developed in China.

The majority of the routes that the new trains will take will be between Beijing and Tianjin. However, a few will run between the capital and Shijiazhuang in Hebei. The Fuxing trains will stop at nine stations in the region. Trains on the Beijing-Tianjin line will stop at Beijing South, Wuqing and Tianjin. On the Beijing-Shijiazhuang line, trains will stop at Beijing West, Zhuozhou East, Gaobeidian East, Gaoyi West, Baoding East and Shijiazhuang.

Starting today, the new trains will also operate between Beijing and Guangzhou, stopping off at Xingtai East station in Hebei.
