001 《Virus》

oil painting on canvas(50cm*60cm)

The entire installation encompasses a painting specially created during the CorV-19 epidemic in the middle. A rabbit wearing a mask crouched in front of the door looks hopefully at the sea outside, but was careful not to cross the thundering pond halfway. On the door the word "Virus" is painted which stings the optic nerve of every viewer.

Cities are the mother of our lives. The entire background video is a collection of various city materials collected during the epidemic, with over a hundred ordinary people from around the world wearing masks, flash constantly on the left and right to show their current life and what they would like to express. The entire work combines "solid paintings" and "moving images" in an effort to present people's living conditions in the epidemic.

Sissi Wu

Sissi is an illustrator born and raised in Shanghai. Prior to that, she published nearly two million articles on well-known Chinese blog websites. Sissi has her own photography studio working as a professional photographer. Despite her current standing, she always thinks that the sense of accomplishment brought about by these things is nothing compared to painting.

Sissi has worked hard to combine painting with other art forms. She is not only a contracted painter for CM Leap, but she's also a frequent visitor to many art exhibitions. On Instagram she has more than 20,000 loyal fans and opened a public account last year, where she began to introduce her work to domestic fans.

poster (700mm*1000mm)

Design Concept: Inspiration of “Bats are not food” comes from Chinese phrase "Good Luck of mouth ”. The phrase means it's against natural law to eat our desires such as eating bats and other game or not paying attention to the impact of doing such. The result has been society suffering the consequence of a few. The poster is deformed with the pattern of a bat representing blessings in ancient China. However, "blessing” was represented by a bat which became a virus in people's mouth. This was not real blessing from the bat at all.

Although he is a designer, he prefers to play basketball on the weekdays and only draw graffiti afterwards. Zhenya has an upward personality of the post-90s, a greatly enrich mind, working from day to night like a machine. During his days off you can find him wondering everywhere.

arcylic painting on canvas(60cm*80cm) 2020

Lying down during the virus outbreak  — They said eating wild animals was one of the reasons which caused the virus outbreak. In order to satisfy humans appetite, desires of wanting a different taste they were punished. Eating wild animals  caused human wear masks and  finally turned to be bat man, they wish to become an angel and fly away, and for human kinds, he then peacefully sit there and wait for the end of the outbreak.

arcylic painting on canvas(60cm*80cm) 2020

During the epidemic people were filled with fear, displaying hundreds of expressions on their faces. Even wearing a mask could not hide the fear on their faces, the virus in the sky, and finally the human hope that the epidemic can be ended soon.

 005 《Facetime with my dog》

acrylic and plastic on canvas(100cm x 80cm)2020

The painting "Facetime with my Dog" was finished under the situation of the corona virus time. This shows that during a hard time, I could only stay at home and locked down by myself. I couldn't even see my dog in person. The dog is not only represented as a pet, but also can represent "family" or "family members". From my personal experience, it also reflects sadness that some people in China, especially those doctors and nurses who were saving thousands of lives felt by not being able to see their family. So technology, more specifically, WeChat and Facetime were the only way to see each other. My painting focused on the "tech-addiction" theme. However, instead of being an ironic word, "tech-addiction" in this painting it is intended to be more positive. I wanna imply that the technology during the corona virus time is helping a lot of people get connected.

Paper composite material (15cm*18cm)

The epidemic is spreading this New Year with panic, blame and all kinds of noise. But at this time, there are always some people who confront all kinds of pressure, bearing the test of life and death retrograde, just to hold on to hope, the seed of light in their hearts.

Pen sketch (15cm*23cm)

I stayed at home for the epidemic and did not go out for several days. I painted more than 100 portrait sketches, which caused me a little physical exhaustion, and loss of sleep at night. Then I drew this small painting in the early morning. In fact, there was no profound idea behind it. What I wanted was to simply record the group of angels. We can not easily forget them.

When one shouts

The sound disappears in the wind

When a group of people are shouting at the same time

Heaven and earth are afraid of it

The so called rightness

Cover the natural shape

The mark of time

The color of time

Coincident

Indestructible

‘Right’ silence

While the so called ideal and dream

Drown the silent object
