Leading today’s roundup of people moves, Singapore developer CDL’s Millennium & Copthorne Hotels has named a veteran hospitality executive as its new group CEO. Also among the familiar faces showing up in new places this week is a retail real estate pro who is relocating from Singapore to Hong Kong to try her hand in the coffeehouse business, and an expert on getting REITs listed has joined a top London-based legal firm in Hong Kong as well. There’s a slew of agency promotions and hires too, so keep reading for all the details.

Jennifer Fox has been tapped to lead Millennium & Copthorne Hotels as Group Chief Executive Officer and a member of its board of directors, effective June 19, the London-listed firm announced. Fox takes over from Tan Kian Seng, who has served as interim Group CEO since February 2017 following the resignation of Aloysius Lee in January of that year. Fox, a more than 30-year hospitality industry veteran, previously served as president of Canada-based Fairmont Hotels & Resorts since 2011. Singaporean property giant City Developments Limited is the majority investor in M&C, which operators the Millennium, Grand Millennium, Copthorne and Kingsgate hotels.

Jocelyn Hao has joined Starbucks Asia Pacific as a Store Development Director, based in the firm’s office in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Before taking on the new challenge at the global coffeehouse chain, Hao worked at shoe brand Crocs in Singapore for two years as Regional Real Estate Director for APAC, the Middle East & Africa, in which role she was in charge of store network strategy and planning. The retail and real estate specialist previously worked at real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield as a director for retail in Singapore among other senior roles in the industry.

Mike Suen has joined international law firm Withersworldwide as a partner in Hong Kong. Suen’s practice focusses on the listing of real estate investment trusts (REITs), among other initial public offerings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Suen, who was previously a partner at DLA Piper, brings more than 17 years of corporate finance experience to Withersworldwide. “His extensive sector experience across financial services, natural resources, real estate and hospitality are complementary to the firm’s key areas of focus,” commented Anthony Indaimo, head of the firm’s Asia corporate and commercial practice in a statement.

Samuel Zheng has been promoted to Senior Manager, Industrial & Logistics at CBRE Asia Pacific this month. Based in Shanghai, Zheng is responsible for assisting the department leader with building and training the team, working with the team to execute assignments as project leader, business development and client relationship management. His areas of expertise cover industrial, logistics, and research and development real estate investment and he previously worked at rival agency Cushman & Wakefield.

Erica Cheung has been promoted to Leasing Manager from Assistant Leasing Manager at the Hong Kong office of Colliers International this month. Cheung provides secretarial support to senior directors and the department head at the global commercial real estate consultancy, which she joined in 2011. She graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Lucas Lu has joined Cushman & Wakefield as a Manager in the firm’s office in Xiamen, China this month, jumping from rival commercial real estate firm Colliers International where he served as an assistant manager in Beijing for three years. Lu started at Colliers as a senior associate in mid-2014 and was mainly responsible for industrial and logistics real estate services in North China.

Lynn Lin is now Assistant Manager of Talent Acquisition at CBRE Asia Pacific, stepping up from the role of Senior Officer of Talent Acquisition this month. Lin, who is based in Shanghai, has worked for the Los Angeles-based commercial property brokerage since 2015. She received a Master of Laws (LLM) in Maritime Law at the University of Southampton.
