This is a series of online workshops that are part of the celebration of the golden jubilee of the Graduate Program in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies (LAEL), the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUCSP), Brazil. LAEL is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2020.

Title: Introduction to topic models with R

Instructions to participants:

This hands-on workshop introduces corpus linguists to the basic use of probabilistic topics models, a machine-learning technique that automatically identifies ‘topics’ in a given corpus. No prior knowledge of topic models is assumed, but participants will be expected to be familiar with R and RStudio.
