万锦第八区教委候选人JENNY CHEN表示这份文件,Kindergarten to Grade 6 由父母指导在家完成,7到12年级由学生在学校完成。问卷部分内容有诱导之嫌,请大家务必关注。

我前两天就 “Every Student Counts Survey” 的来信或邮件, 发了一个要求家长参与监督的小短信。 其中有一题是 “What is your child’s gender identity?”, 有多达12项的选项, 是12项没看错!(请看上面截图)
我作为一个教委候选人实在坐不下去了,我也失眠了。我们可以考虑特别性别需要,包容,关心, 理解他/她的需要。 但是把那些选项单独列出是扩大化了个别或少数人的性别差异需求存在,就很不恰当。而且有些选项也不明其科学依据,没有很具体解释。 我当选教委后一定会联合大家要求教育局延缓/暂停此调查问卷的实施。
群里很多家长也在议论纷纷。
enshangjiaen:你们周五有收到学校的email吗?关于约克区教育局全体学生要做的问卷调查通知。幼儿园到6年级可以由家长陪同在家online完成,7年级以上会在校内完成。不知道是好事还是坏事,对教育局也缺乏信心了。
frank :看了样题,这分明就是在诱导gender identity,lgbt,和有问题找专业人士谈,没有提及家长。 在问卷中大量关于种族和宗教信仰的问题,可以用来被割裂社会。在高年级的问题中问到精神健康,这答案可以作为证据强制小孩进行治疗,把小孩和父母分离。问卷用特殊编码来绑定学生,使得他们可以找到特定学生。这种用心非常险恶。
如果真的只有那些特殊孩子的家庭做调查,这个比例绝对不会高,几个百分点,就算太多人,这个社会也不会过10%。 问题是他们现在把7到12年级学生单独分开,在学校做,不需要通过家长。学生未必能理解到这其中的坑。例如问题,你父母每天多少次希望你能成功,和你谈论学校功课。 你感到精神紧张吗? 在过去l2个月里有找专业人士谈过精神健康多少次?
这些问题单独看未必有什么大问题,但解释权在他们手里,他们可以说这个学生精神紧张,是因为家长压力太大,又不找专业人士解决,教育局要强制学生进行精神治疗,家长不得干预,为减少家长给孩子的压力,家长和孩子必须隔离。
就象当年伪恩对4200家委会主席的调查,尽管只收到1600份回答,且不说其中有多少是反对的,伪恩是说他们已经做过调查了。家长在这种刻意设计的调查中是没有发言权的,既看不到调查的结果,又不知道结果是如何解释的,只是被利用的对象。 所以不必担心调查的结果会对他们有利,这个答案应该是不管你怎么答,结果总是他们所想要的,而且这次不是匿名的,有可能会伤害到做调查的家庭。
七年级以上包括高中生,家长一定要事先沟通,让小孩拒绝,因为他们会在学校统一做的,不需要家长参与。
现任省议员Billy Pang: 我向來認為這份問卷調查是有取向和目的的。
而家長對這問卷的意見亦不一。而大家對教育局的不信任亦不無原因。
我唯一想到的,是應該爭取不記名調查,因為調查應該是要數據,不應涉及個人記名的取向。若是要個人資料,則不應以調查方式,而是以搜集個人資料方式進行。

Every Student Counts Survey
Dear Families
Student voice is important to us. In November 2018, the York Region District School Board will invite all students to participate in the Every Student Counts Survey (ESCS). The purpose of this census survey is to better understand YRDSB’s diverse student population as well as students’ experiences in school and outside of school. The survey results will be used to help improve our schools and to:
Identify and eliminate systemic barriers to student success;
Create more equitable and inclusive school environments; and,
Improve student achievement and well-being.
CCI Research has been contracted to work with the Board to conduct the survey and to ensure data privacy, security and adherence to all relevant legislation. To ensure that the surveys are age-appropriate, two surveys have been developed. The surveys are voluntary and confidential.
Survey for students in Kindergarten to Grade 6:
Families with a child in Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be invited to complete the survey online with their child at home. In November, a school letter will be sent home with a link to the online survey along with instructions. Families with more than one child in Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be asked to complete one survey per child. The online survey will be available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Farsi, Gujarati, Hebrew, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Tamil, Urdu, Vietnamese. If, for accessibility reasons, you require the survey on paper, in large print or braille please contact CCI Research at 1-866-450-4907 no later than October 9, 2018.
Survey for students in Grades 7-12:
In November, all students in Grades 7-12 will be invited to complete the survey online during class time. The online survey will be available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Farsi, Russian, Tamil and Urdu. For accessibility purposes the survey will also be available in paper, large print and braille. Accommodations for students who need assistance completing the survey will be arranged by school staff in advance. Participation in the survey is voluntary. Students can skip questions that they do not want to answer. If you are a parent/guardian of child(ren) in Grades 7-12 and do not want them to participate in the survey, please contact CCI Research at 1-866-450-4907 no later than October 9, 2018.
As one of the main purposes of the survey is to identify and eliminate barriers to student achievement there will be a unique code on each survey for YRDSB to link the survey data with student achievement data.
To ensure confidentiality, no directly identifying information (such as your child’s name) will be on the survey. A summary of the results (grouped data only) will be available at schools and on the Board’s website in Spring 2019.
