从明年1月1日起，济南全市推广电子身份证和电子印章系统。
Jinan government is set to introduce electronic identity cards for local residents on Jan 1, 2020, local media reported.
该电子身份证是由公安部及地方公安部门联合审批的网上居民身份证。
The electronic identity cards relate to online resident identification licenses, jointly approved by the Ministry of Public Security and local public security departments.
居民可以使用手机通过面部识别技术，在线提交身份证获得电子身份证。
Residents can gain their electronic ID cards through their mobile phones, via facial recognition technologies and their identification cards.
电子身份证可用于办理登机手续、购票、运送快递甚至政府服务，为那些丢失身份证的人提供了便利。
The electronic ID cards can be used when checking in, buying tickets or when delivering express or even government services. They provide convenience in those circumstances where someone has lost their ID cards.
电子身份证系统在行政审批阶段已试运行一个多月，目前运行状况良好。
The electronic ID card system has been in trial operation for over one month in the administrative approval stage, and it is performing well.
