在日常生活中，我们的中文习惯扎根太深，所以很多表达，都会直接翻译，比如一说到'洗'，就是Wash，但在英文中，可不一定正确！马上来看这些日常表达，你都能一次说对吗？！
洗是Wash，洗衣服是Wash clothes吗？
才不是呢！
用“wash”来表达“洗”，偏向于中式思维。
在英语中，虽然“wash” 的意思是“洗涤，冲洗”，但没有那么具体化，不能确定“在哪洗”或“洗什么”。
do the laundry
“laundry” 指“洗衣店，洗衣房，要洗的衣物”。
比如《老友记》、《生活大爆炸》等一些美剧中，可以看到剧中人物带着大量的衣物到洗衣店里清洗，这种公用洗衣房就是“laundry”。
“do the laundry” 才是英语中“洗衣服”的地道表达方式。
当然有时在英式英语中，也用“do the washing”表达“洗衣服”。
例句：
It's a good day to do the laundry.
今天是个洗衣服的好天气。
A: This sucks! The washing machine is broken! What's wrong with it? Oh, and we don't have any laundry detergent either.
A: 糟糕！洗衣机坏了！这怎么回事？哦，洗衣液也没了。
B: Honey, just take it easy. We don't have to do the laundry at home. Let's just head to the dry cleaners.
B: 亲爱的，放松心情。我们不用非在家里洗衣服。咱们直接去干洗店吧。

他们一般用下面这两个
take/have a shower
或
take/have a bath

他回到他的房间洗了个淋浴。
在中文里一提到吃，就想到Eat，但在英文中关于吃，普遍使用的动词是Have，吃午饭Have lunch，喝咖啡Have a coffee，要注意的是，吃药的动词一定要用Take。
正确用法是：Take medicine
例句：
Her doctor says she has to rest and take medicine twice a day.
医生说她必须休息，并且每天要吃两次药
对于电子设备的开关，不能直接对应中文中的Open或者Close，比如开关手机，电脑，电视，动词可以用Turn或者Switch
正确用法：Turn on / off 或者Switch on / off
例句：
Don't be scared. I'll turn on the light.
别害怕，我把灯打开
