I think a few things I want to speak to you guys about is the importance of you know the experience of what Ive had in working in the Chinese market.

So I think one common mistake that a lot of people do is saying it is good for China, its good for China,  So people watch a movie thats Chinese and they say “oh, that was a good movie for a Chinese movie.” and for me it doesn’t cut it, it doesn’t make sense to me, do you understand.

A movie is a movie. It shouldnt be: oh because its a Chinese movie, theres lower standards. So what I think is the most important, especially for all of us you know, were lucky enough to have a Western education or a Western upbringing, is to understand that the level of quality of work does not differ in different countries.

Whenever I do something, I dont think about Im doing this for China, so what is good for China, I believe everything that I do, even if its a Chinese song. I try to think of it as if my friends in America or a person that worked at a radio station they listen to my song, what would they think this song.

Now Im not thinking, Im not saying Chinese market is unimportant, its just that we cannot say to ourselves that okay, so I want to work in China and these are the guidelines or the status of what is good. Because the problem is that, a lot of us may be already thinking everyones like China is the next market, Chinas the next superpower. China is this and China is that, okay there is a lot of money to be made there, but you can not lose integrity of what you do and what you represent for money, and at the same time if China is going to become the next superpower or the next place to make business happen, then we can not be working at a barometer of saying this is good for China. This is everything has to be good on an international level, and only then will we be able to be standing proud and say :  this is Chinese made.

So everything that I’ve been doing, I’ve been trying to be made in China creatively designed in China, everything is from a Chinese perspective.

So when people think I say made in China or this work were based in China and it gives them a bad stigmatism. I have to be very aware of everything that I do and everything that I say. So that if someone from an international level is looking at the product that were making or looking at the creative designs or the idea that were coming out of, we can be proud to say that, yeah this is made in China.

It took me three years to keep showing them what we do, showing that we are not at a lower level than other creatives.

Quite honestly every time we make something, although 70% percent of the people that buy it are Chinese. We dont think of it that way, we think of making a good product.

Now good product it doesnt matter where you go, it doesnt matter if you are in Brazil, it doesnt matter if you are in Russia, it doesnt matter if you are in Ethiopia. A good product will sell itself. It doesnt have to be, it doesnt have to say made where, made where, made where.

So I think the importance of all of you guys is to understand that everything we do we should be doing it for an international level.

I know that a lot of you might return back to China and work, and you might start falling under that same stigmatism, but that is wrong, I’m telling you right now, it’s wrong.

We have to keep knowing what’s good and keep bringing what’s good, so that in China, in 10, 15, 20, 25, 50 years whenever it really is our time to step up to the plate. We are already trained in offering quality level products or quality level thinking not judged on the level of what’s good in China.

I think one of the most important thing is, In China, it’s very hard to speak your mind, it’s very hard to truly and essentially be yourself.

When we go back we have to really really really really stay true to your real roots and stay true to whatever your real inspiration and idea is. Because we are all global and we ‘re all the same people, even though our skin may be a different color, it doesn’t make any difference, so doing something for China should be doing something for the world, and you should not lower your standard for that.

...but I think the most important thing is how to mesh what you know and try to kind of bring it into a larger conversation. So that everyone does not have to change what they want to do.

People might not understand what you’re talking about or what you’re thinking, but if you have a good idea sooner or later, they’re gonna jump on and they’re gonna start giving your praise. And I feel like us as the next voice in generation for China.

You are a part of the world, and you should act the way you want to act and represent the thing that you want to represent.

I think one of the most important thing I’ve ever learned is, if you find a job you love, you really don’t have to work anymore.Cuz it’s something I love, is something I’m passionate for, is something that I want to tell the world.

So I think what’s most important also that I wanted to tell you is, Finance is secondary, passion is first, because like I said if you have passion for something, no matter how hard it is, it’s all worth it.

...believe in yourself and believe n your dreams, and really find your own groove and stick to it believe in it. And no matter if you’re doing it in America, if you’re doing it in China, if you’re doing it in Japan, just do it at the same quality level. Do not, do not because other people are working at a lower standard or a lower thinking, go down to that level,

...I’ve never bent over for anybody, and I think the will power of yourself will be the testament of Chinese people for the next 50 to 100 years. And I think we are the most important people right now in the world. Because we have a great chance. We have one of the largest nations, we’re becoming more and more important on the international level.

And what is most important is the next generation.

As long as I believe in something, I hope that in the future it will change. It might not happen in your lifetime, but we are the force to make that wave to start going. So I believe one day, we can really will be maybe the most influential and most powerful country in the world.

So hopefully you guys can really follow your dreams, understand what the level of quality is and keep at it. Because no one else will have the opportunity like us, ...I think what matters is to be able to inspire the next generation to do better, to make a difference.

...take the good and try to make it better and try to make people better.

Edison:

WTF?!

Made in China =

I think one common mistake that a lot of people make is say "it's good for China, it's good for China".

A movie is a movie. It shouldn't be "because it's a Chinese movie, there's lower standard".

The level of quality of work does not differ in different countries.

A lot of us may be already thinking that China is the next market, China is the next superpower. There's a lot money to be made there. Sure, but you cannot lose the integrity of what you do and what you represent for money.

That's perseverance and that's a really, really, really, really hard work.

A good product will sell itself. It doesn't have to say (it was) made where.

The importance of all you guys is to understand that everything that we do, we should be doing it at an international level.

People might not understand what you’re talking about or what you’re thinking. But if you have a good idea, sooner or later, they’re gonna jump on and they’re gonna start giving you praise.

It might be that all tech is really in right now and you’re like, “Oh, I’m gonna go to that market and try to make some money." Nine out of 10 times you will lose. Because you’re only trying to do it for finance.

Finance is secondary, passion is first. Because if you have passion for something, no matter how hard it is, it’s all worth it.

Believe in yourself and believe in your dreams, and really find your own groove and stick to it, believe in it.

Edison:

I'm 37. I'm old. You guys are the young ones. So hopefully you guys can really follow your dreams, understand what the level of quality is and keep at it.

In a few years, I'll be retired, and hopefully living on an island, sun tanning. And hopefully you guys can be the next ones to push the envelope.

push the envelope:挑战极限

I'm Chinese. I was born in Canada, but I truly believe I'm Chinese. I may not speak the best Mandarin, but I definitely know my culture and my roots. Hopefully you guys will remember where you come from and what you represent, and what you can do to make our nation and our people better.

https://www.paturnpike.com/business/financial_planning.aspx
