艺术家 | About the Artist
唐娜·胡安卡 (Donna Huanca)(b.1980)是一位常驻柏林的美籍玻利维亚裔当代艺术家。其作品形式横跨绘画、雕塑、行为表演、编舞、影像和声音,且都互相贯通并有着强烈而独特的视觉语言。曾举办过两个大展:洛杉矶Marciano艺术基金会“Obsidian Ladder”和哥本哈根现代艺术中心“Lengua Llorona”,其作品也被美国古根海姆美术馆、Marciano艺术基金会、英国Zabludowicz收藏协会及国内余德耀美术馆Yuz Museum和四方美术馆收藏。

胡安卡具有个人鲜明特征的绘画方式和风格,运用到其雕塑和大型场域装置中时,作为“基石”的绘画本身亦不妨说成为了她的经典彩绘人体行为表演的加持,为其后的创作奠定了坚实的语言基础与个人风格。

胡安卡的雕塑和大型装置作品,也可以理解为是其绘画“立体化”的体现。雕塑作品可以被单独看作是一系列巨型抽象作品,其上不仅有着各色颜料也装饰有头发和辫子。她的雕塑在人体行为表演的展览现场也充当着“场景道具”的功能,彼时再看,就像是生灵穿梭在形状奇异的「可视化世界」中。
将人体部分例如毛发剪切下来当作装饰物,不禁让人联想起部落民族的祭祀风俗。民俗和宗教文化长久以来一直对人类艺术有着难以磨灭的深刻影响,艺术家在成长过程中又将这种影响以风物和元素的形式附加进自己的创作作品中。因此这种赋有特殊的精神力量和情感信仰的艺术品才得以传达其内涵和能量给更多的观众。

Performance胡安卡的人体雕塑既可见于日光展厅,同时又在暗室展厅中有着异常迷人的魅力。黑暗环境创造的这种非语言的原始状态是「生与死循环结合」的场所。就像艺术家所言:人类都对光敏感,我们的眼睛触发着我们的记忆。毕竟,我们是在子宫的黑暗中诞生的,这就是我想对观者所表述的:我们从黑暗开始,将在黑暗中结束。

秘鲁的神明
无拘束的创造模式
「 在我的成长时期没有接触过以传统欧洲为中心的艺术形式。回想起来,这使我看到了更多,并创造了一种不受拘束的艺术模式。坦率地讲,我对正式的传统绘画及其相关比喻从来没产生过十分强烈的感觉。长时间以来,我都使用非传统的媒介绘画,例如化妆品、食物、织物、声音、黏土等。」
