你好呀,我是@宝德考利。非常开心能有机会和大家分享,先介绍一下我的情况:初试总分315,英语一77,政治80,数学68,专业课90。排名倒数第二险入复试,复试排名第二,成功上岸。
出结果的那天,是我今年最开心的一天。啊哈哈哈哈哈哈哈!不过说实话,今年数学一我崩了,专业课平平无奇刚及格,那我凭啥上岸?答案是英语救了我一命,特别是复试个人考核PPT(五分钟讲演环节)准备的还算可以,不然上岸就是白日做梦。
由于目标院校非常重视英语口语及其表达能力,因此,我结合牛津的口语课程(www.bilibili.com/video/av46460193),练了大概一个月口语。后来,院系出复试方案之后,我再结合个人实际情况整理考核PPT和演讲稿,连续练习一周,最后从初试倒数第二成功逆袭到复试第二名,下面是我准备的5分钟演讲稿和PPT,希望对你有所帮助~

Good morning, professors. I am so glad to be here for this interview. Thank you all for giving me this opportunity. Now, I’m going to give a brief personal statement.

My name is ***, 23 years old. I was born in Maoming, a beautiful city in southwestern of Guangdong Province. I am an active member of the Communist Youth League.
Personally speaking,I am easy-going, open-minded, and warm-hearted. And in my spare time, I enjoy table tennis, basketball and running, whichenrich my campus life very much, and also benefit me in many ways, like stay healthy and relaxing myself. It was when I entered the Guangdong University of Technology 4 years ago that I officially became a student majoring in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering.

As for the academic performance, I’ve passed the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6. My reading comprehension, spoken English and my GPA are not bad, at least I think so.

During the four years in the campus, I’ve been studying very hard and was granted scholarships several times such as National Encouragement Scholarship, Outstanding Academic Scholarship. In addition, I participated in various subject competitions actively such as Mechanical Innovation Design Competition, International Contest of Innovation and Mathematical Contest in Modeling.

Now, in order to explain my research interest, I would like to introduce my Graduation Project. This robot is developed to perform the tasks such as the inspection and cleaning for steel structures like oil tanks, wind turbines and pipelines.

From these two figures of the 3D Model, we can see that this robot integrates one central magnet group and three side magnet groups at the bottom which enable the robot to adhere on the steel structures and its adaptability to various surface.

In order to control this robot, three Brushless Direct Current Motors are connected with a STM32 Microcontroller through CAN Communication Network. Also, utilizing PS2 joystick enables users to remote-control the robot from more than 25 meters away to move on (x, y) direction and rotate around its central axis.
The most important part of the control system is the microcontroller which loaded the inverse kinematics model and communication network of the robot.

Although we haven’t finish all the experiments, we are confident that we could succeed because we’ve verified the correctness of the kinematics and finished the wireless communication experiment.

After professional practices such as my graduation project, I find myself gradually obsessed with the major.
Here are some examples.
Figure 5-1 is one motion animation of the robot PUMA560. This motion was created easily with the help of Robotics Toolbox for MATLAB.
Figure 5-2 is another media animation of the Spotmini Robot with the help of the SLAM technology.
These examples make me exciting about the bright future of the robot area. It was like I want to devote into this field for the rest of my life. That’s why I choose this major, too.

If I am lucky to pass today’s interview, that’s my research plan sketch. Firstly, I will choose a research area with your guidance, and then concentrate on the fundamental theories such as mathematics in the field, which is important. On the same time, I will pay attention to the advanced theories and technologies. In the last year, maybe I could build a prototype of an autonomous robot to verify the key theories. After graduation, if I am qualified, I will go further study to achieve a PHD.

Finally, I want to talk about why I choose Southern University of Science and Technology.
As is well-known, born in the most innovative city in our country——Shenzhen, your university which emphasis innovation and creativity is a superb college for researchers to create, innovate and break through.
