Pore 一词对不少小伙伴来说是个熟词，常作名词表示皮肤上的“毛孔”或植物的“气孔、孔隙”，这个含义源自希腊语 poros （小孔），比如：

• 她浑身上下每个毛孔都散发着性感。
  She oozes sexuality from every pore.

每个毛孔都散发着性感，其实就是说非常性感，所以 from every pore 或 at every pore 的意思也就是喻指“极度、非常”，比如：

另外， pore 同小站之前推过的 loom,  faction, swallow, staple, founder, lurch 等一样，也是个同形异义词，它还有一个动词含义可能源自英语单词 peer ，表示“凝视、注视”，比如：
