7 Days Gannan Tour with Tibetan Culture Experience
Gannan, located in southern Gansu Province, is renowned as “Small Tibet” because of its influential Tibetan Buddhism existence. With an average altitude of 3000 meters above sea level, you can experience Tibetan culture and enjoy the plateau scenery in comfort and without the risk of altitude sickness.
It has not only authentic Buddhist culture but also vast and beautiful plateau views. Here you will see grand prairies, scattered lakes, monasteries, Tibetan villages, unique mountain peaks, and hidden wonderlands.
The largest Tibetan Study Academy Labrang Monastery is located in Xiahe County of Gannan. While another famous religious site Langmusi is an incredible place where you will experience a spectacular religious atmosphere and enjoy the fascinating land of the natural landscape.

Day 1
Lanzhou Arrival
Welcome to Lanzhou. Once you arrive at Lanzhong Zhongchuan Airport or Lanzhou Train Station, you will be picked up by your local guide, then be escorted to your hotel in a private vehicle.
You’ll spend the rest of the day exploring this amazing northwestern historical city, visiting the First Bridge on Yellow River which has more than one-hundred-year history and enjoy the unique northwest cuisine in the evening.
Day 2
Lanzhou - Xiahe (235km)
After breakfast, you will drive about 1.5 hours to Liujiaxia Dam, a big national hydroelectric reservoir on the upper Yellow River. From the dock, you need to take a speed boat to get to Bingling Temple. During the 40-50 minutes’ boat ride, you can enjoy the magnificent rock cliffs along the river.
After getting off from the boat, walk several minutes to the entrance of Bingling Temple. it is one of China's big ancient Buddhist temple complexes with an array of statuary and frescoes dating from about AD 420 to the Ming Dynasty. The statues date from various dynastic eras and show the differing cultures, clothing, and physical features of the worshipped gods. The earliest temples are at the highest elevation and have characteristic Indian-style features and artistic style.
After fully explore the precious cultural relics, you'll drive to Xiahe.
Bingling Temple-炳灵寺石窟
Day 3
Xiahe - Langmusi
After breakfast, you will drive to explore the Labrang Monastery. Labrang Monastery is one of the six great monasteries of the Geluk (Yellow Hat) school of Tibetan Buddhism. It is Tibetan Buddhism's most important monastery town outside the Tibetan Autonomous Region. The monastery combines multiple architectural styles including traditional Indian Vihara and Tibetan styles, to create a beautiful and unique compound.
After lunch, make a midway visit to Sangke Grassland which is a natural pasture of Tibetan nomads. The grass is lush like a blanket in summer and the cattle and sheep are herding in groups under the blue sky and white clouds. What a pastoral scenery. Every year on July 13th of the lunar calendar, the seven tribes of the Sangke region will gather at Sangke Grassland and hold a horse racing festival here.
After the tour finished, Driving for about 3.5 hours to Langmusi Town. Nicknamed as "Little Oriental Switzerland", Langmusi is surrounded by grassland, forests, and hills. Han, Tibetan, and Hui people live in harmony and most residents here believe in Tibetan Buddhism and Islam. Stepping into Langmusi, you can feel a strong atmosphere of religion seeing the colorful temples and prayer flags, which also adds a sense of Zen to the primitive nature scene. Staying here, people can easily calm down and find a little peace of mind.

Day 4
Langmusi - Zhagana
After breakfast, start the exploration of the Langmusi area. Langmusi is a very small town on the junction of Gansu and Sichuan Province - a half in Gansu and a half in Sichuan. Each part has a Tibetan monastery. There is also an Islamic mosque located between these two Tibetan monasteries. Our knowledgeable guide will take you to visit them one by one. If lucky enough, you may witness the numerous local festivals in monasteries(especially during the Spring Festival and the summer months). The landscape here is fascinating - red mountain, beautiful valley, blue sky, forests, flowers, temples... It is also a great place to experience the local nomadic life.
After the tour finished, drive for about 2.5 hours to Zhagana and check-in hotel.

Day 5
Zhagana - Luqu
After breakfast, you'll drive to visit the surreal world of Zhagana, a village in the northwest of Diebu County of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The major landform in Zhagana is an ancient glacial landform. With an average altitude of 3,200 meters, Zhagana means “Rock Box” in the Tibetan language, which is fitting as it is surrounded by large rocky spires on all sides. Lush, verdant villages fill the space between the mountains. The stunning landscape, primitive forest, local Tibetan villages, and unique culture will make you feel you never want to leave.
Then you will reach Gahai Lake - a plateau lake with an altitude of 3479.7 meters. It is the habitat and breeding place for a great number of rare migrant birds.

Day 6
Luqu - Lanzhou
After breakfast, you will drive for about 1.5 hours to Hezuo City, visit the Milariba Buddha Pavilion, a red Tibetan high-rise building, is built to commemorate the famous master Milarepa in the history of Tibetan Buddhism. Due to the extremely rare high-rise religious buildings of the Buddhist pavilion in Tibetan areas, it is very unique to take pictures outside the building. There are more than 1,000 statues in the Buddhist pavilion, including representatives of various major sects of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as celebrity masters in Tibetan history. This coexistence of various sects is also very rare in Tibetan areas, which is worth visiting.
On the way back to Lanzhou, you will have change pay a visit to the Linxia Nanguan Great Mosque, which is one of China's ancient Islamic temples.

7天甘南藏族文化之旅

第一天：到达兰州
到达兰州机场/火车站，导游司机接机送酒店，之后自由活动；
第二天：兰州 - 夏河
早餐后驱车约1.5小时到达刘家峡。从刘家峡乘船（约1小时）到达炳灵寺石窟。炳灵寺石窟是我国的五大石窟之一。参观结束后乘车前往夏河县并入住酒店。
第三天：夏河 - 郎木寺镇
早餐后游览拉扑楞寺，该寺创建于1710年，经历代嘉木样的兴修、扩建，现已成为甘、青、川地区大型的藏族宗教和文化中心，是中国藏传佛教格鲁派(黄教)六大宗主寺之一。
之后游览桑科草原。桑科草原属于草甸草原，平均海拔在3000米以上，草原面积达70平方公里，是甘南藏族自治州的主要畜牧业基地之一。这里人口少面积大，仅有4000多牧民，草原却辽阔无际，是一处极为宝贵的自然旅游景区。
夏河行程结束后开车约3.5小时到郎木寺镇并入住酒店。郎木寺并不是一座寺院，而是一个小镇的名字，地跨四川甘肃两省，被誉为“东方小瑞士”。
第四天：郎木寺镇 - 扎尕那
早起参观郎木寺，感受庄严的佛教气氛，远观神秘而又神圣的天葬台，穿越那摩峡谷，寻觅白龙江源头。之后开车约2.5小时到扎尕那；
第五天：扎尕那 - 碌曲
早餐后游览扎尕那景区，扎尕那是天然的石头城，山势奇峻、云雾缭绕、宛如仙境。藏寨内游牧、农耕、狩猎和樵采等多种生产活动合理搭配和互补融合，成为人与自然和谐相处的一个典范。
之后到达尕海湖，甘南第一大淡水湖，是青藏高原东部的一块重要湿地，被誉为高原上的一颗明珠，尕海湖水草丰茂，许多南迁北返的珍稀鸟类在此落脚和繁殖，黑颈鹤，灰鹤，天鹅等珍禽遍布湖边草滩，行程结束后驱车至碌曲入住酒店；
第六天：碌曲 - 临夏
早餐后开车约1.5小时到达合作市，游览米拉日巴佛阁，一座红色的藏式高层建筑, 为纪念藏传佛教历史上著名的大师米拉日巴尊者而建. 佛阁的高层宗教建筑在藏区十分少见，在外部拍照十分独特。而佛阁内部供奉了一千多尊塑像，有藏传佛教各大教派的代表人物，还有藏族历史上的名人大师，这种各教派并存的情况在藏区也十分罕见，值得进去参观。
沿途游览临夏南关清真大寺，之后开车返回兰州；
第七天：离开兰州
早餐后乘车前往机场，送机结束此次甘南之行。
