Attention! New COVID Prevention Policy in Shanghai Updates!


The Shanghai Municipal Leading Group office for epidemic prevention and control issued information on November 7, to further strengthen management toward personnel coming from high-risk areas to Shanghai personnel health management, specific prevention measures are adjusted as follows:


Report journey

All personnel returning to Shanghai from or through high-risk areasand medium-risk areas of the domestic outbreak should report to their village committee and unit (or hotel) as soon as possible within 12 hours after arrival in Shanghai.


Quarantine rules

1. All personnel from or through high-risk areas must be in 14 days of centralized isolation and complete 4 nucleic acid tests.


2. All people from or through medium-risk areas must strictly implement 14 days of community health management, and complete 2 nucleic acid tests. During the monitoring time, it's advised not to go out unless there's an emergency. Masks will be required outdoors. And they shall not join in crowds or participate in any gatherings.


Schools and other units

Schools and other relevant units will strictly inspect health codes, and require students and workers from medium-risk and high-risk areas in the last 14 days to implement the corresponding health management measures.


General public

At the same time, the general public is advised not to travel to medium-risk and high-risk areas or leave the country for non-essential reasons. When traveling, they shall follow social distancing rules, wear masks, use hand sanitizers often, and monitor their self-health condition on a daily basis.  


Once they notice a fever, cough, and other symptoms, they must go to the closest medical institutions immediately and honestly inform their recent travel history and contacts.
