How to Take Public Transport in Shanghai Without Smartphone?
1. Offline Suishen Code + Physical transport card (already associated with identity information)
With a physical transportation card (already associated with identity information) and an offline Suishen Code, you can take rail transit, ground bus, and ferry.
2. Offline Suishen code + ID card
With a paper offline Suishen Code + ID card, you can take rail transit, ground bus, and ferry.
3. Offline Suishen Code + CPIC transport card
With a CPIC transport card (insurance card for Shanghai elderly over 70) and an offline Suishen Code, you can take rail transit, ground bus, and ferry.
The offline Suishen Code can be applied for and printed at the one-stop self-service window of each district administrative service center, community affairs acceptance center, and other offline windows.
You can also choose to apply for the code on government website https://zwdt.sh.gov.cn/.
Notes
1. Offline Suishen Code will be valid for 180 days.
2. Offline Suishen Code cannot directly display your health status, and staff in public places need to scan the code via Suishanban APP, WeChat or Alipay applet to verify. So, when traveling alone, you must take your ID card and the printed Suishen Code with you.
3. Only minors under the age of 18, seniors over the age of 60, and disabled residents (Shanghai hukou) could apply for the offline code. These people can also register for the normalized PCR testing with offline Suishen Code.
4. Public places such as supermarkets, shopping malls, parks, and hospitals still request negative PCR reports for citizens to enter.
5. 数字哨兵Digital Sentinel does not support printed Suishen Code. If you do not have a smartphone and need to pass through the machine, directly swipe your ID card.
